The Robertson Ramblings

Monday, May 18, 2015. March Madness, April Showers, and LOTS of Pictures of Isla Grace. Isla grows cuter every day. You could almost eat her with a spoon, which is why we've had to warn against her climbing into bowls, like this one at "Rock Park" near our house. March 2 is Dr. Seuss Day, and in honor of the Bard's (different Bard) birthday, Sarah made a Seussian spread for dinner: one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish; pink yink ink drink; and green eggs and ham. The Robertson Ramblings: December 2012

http://www.sarahbethandmikeyjoe.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

Saturday, December 29, 2012. Tis the season to be thankful! We have had a wonderful end to 2012! We went to the Foulks' home (Michael's brother Scott's in-laws) in southern New Jersey and had a fabulous time. Thank you to the Foulks for their generosity and kindness! Here are a couple highlights. For Thanksgiving Micah got some adorable pajamas from his Grandma Robertson and he ended up wearing them all day! Thanksgiving dinner was so delicious! We especially loved the homemade applesauce! This year we c...

The Robertson Ramblings: March 2015

Monday, March 9, 2015. Half Birthdays, Groundhog Day, and Other Funny February Traditions. On half-birthdays in the Robertson family, the half-birthday boy or girl gets to choose what we all eat for dinner. Micah turned two-and-a-half on February 5th. We had egg salad sandwiches and a delicious apple cake, courtesy of Micah's culinarily gifted mom. About redemption and finding the true meaning of life and love. And then we saw a peacock with its tail feathers up! It was so cool. One of the fun things...

The Robertson Ramblings: November 2014

http://www.sarahbethandmikeyjoe.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 9, 2014. Hallowmas Eve and Other October Occurrences. We had a blast, and we learned that when you're a middle class family that builds a huge cannon to launch pumpkins on the weekend, the only place you can store your giant cannon-on-a-flatbed-trailer is on the street in front of your house, which could make for interesting discussions with your neighbor. Foreman Micah, making sure everybody's working hard. Get back to work! You think these punkins are gonna chunk themselves! Beautiful ...

The Robertson Ramblings: August 2014

http://www.sarahbethandmikeyjoe.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 18, 2014. We spent July in Fruit Heights, Utah, with Sarah's parents. Michael spent almost the entire month locked away studying for the bar exam, which was on July 29th and 30th in Colorado, but everyone else had a lot of fun with friends and family. Micah probably went down this slide and into the swimming pool about 5,000 times. Thanks to grandpa and his cousin Dallin for patiently catching him at the bottom over and over . . . and over again. Grandpa coming in from the bike portion.

Love Simply | Aiming to love the way I have been loved. Simply.

Aiming to love the way I have been loved. Simply. But If Not… (Part 1). That brings us to now. Almost a year and a half later, I’m about to enter my final semester before completing my associates degree. I know this is where God has called me for a purpose, yet, I still struggle with anxiety of what will happen after graduation. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. They are looking at King Nebuchadnezzar in the eye ...

Miscellaneous Adventures

November 16, 2013. On Christmas and Giving Life. I am aware that it’s not yet Thanksgiving and you may consider it way too soon for Christmas, but this year my giving of thanks season and my giving of gifts season are blended into one wonderful, miraculous smoothie of gratitude (Yes, smoothie. I think in terms of food, okay). Around this season we see the facebook posts about people hating it when they’re wished to have Happy Holidays instead of a Merry Christmas and why Christians hate it when you...

The Johnston Family

Tuesday, March 11, 2014. Happy New Year…a little late. We had fun ringing in 2014 with great friends and family! New Year’s Eve is Uncle Jason’s birthday also! Sunday, February 2, 2014. Christmas morning is my favorite especially since I have children now.  It is so magical to see my children wake up on Christmas morning and see what Santa left. . The girls played a serious game of Jenga with their uncles! MeMe got the kids a trampoline.  They love it! Andrew and Brandon were waiting patiently on gifts!

it's come to this

It's come to this. A 20-something's thoughts on suburbia, life and the times. Monday, September 29, 2008. Breaking and Entering: Gary, Ind. I learned two things this weekend. The first is that Gary, Indiana is, indeed, what is appears to be from the highway - a crumbling shell of a city. The second is that tromping through a falling-down city feels a lot different than tromping through the falling-down country. Here are more sights from around town:. Train station, we think. Inside the train station.

Quiet Musings

Saturday, September 20, 2014. Patience: Willful Suffering In The Name Of Love. Patience is faith in action. Patience is emotional diligence. It's the willingness to suffer inside so that others can grow. It reveals love. It gives birth to understanding. Even as we become aware of our suffering in love, we learn about ourselves and our own weaknesses and motives.". Stephen R. Covey, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families. Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Monday, October 21, 2013. What does it look like?

The door to a mud home on a side street in Cuzco. And just like that, it was over. My last few days in Peru went quickly on Thursday we flew to the mountains of Cuzco, the tourist capital of the country and popular jump-off spot for the famed Machu Picchu. Even with the plethora of medicinal. Products that I consumed (leaves, beer and lots of tea), the altitude still took its toll. Each night I would wake up, confused, gasping for breath. I liked it, I said in English. Very different. Very poor. In cash&...
