Running Home. |
https://sewwhatsarahs.wordpress.com/2010/08/09/running-home
Sorry it’s been awhile. I have no excuse. At least not any good ones. I’ve been up to many things, including a long, sweaty run with my friend, Alex, at Valley Forge Park. You know your run is going to be a good one when you get out of your car and are greeted by this:. Good old fashioned men of the revolution. Valley Forge was where General George Washington and his troops stayed during the winter encampment of 1777-78. It’s also where about 2,000 of the troops died due to the conditions. 8211; Sarah #2.

The Dog Dooner Cafe': October 2008

My Friend Abby on Calling. For ConEd, we visit each other's churches and are expected to lead a worship service. My friend, Abby, did one on calling. After reading some passages on specific calls, she gave this homily:. Who are these people? We come here today as people who have answered a call, most likely with fear and hesitancy. Can we trust this man from Nazareth? Can we trust his words to be enough? Are we ready for this life of service? Choosing life, pt. 3. Read pt. 1. And pt. 2. I was in the midd...

The Dog Dooner Cafe': A Sermon for Holy Saturday
http://thedogdoonercafe.blogspot.com/2010/03/sermon-for-holy-saturday.html
A Sermon for Holy Saturday. To Sit and Wait. What a week. Six days ago we were on a high. We sang songs of Hosanna. We saw the prophecies fulfilled. The words of the Psalmist were shouted by the people of Jerusalem: “Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! The next day we returned and listened as our worst fears were confirmed. Jesus was crucified. We sat together in silence, then ate in silence- everyone feeling like they should say something, no one knowing quite what to say. One element ...

The Dog Dooner Cafe': May 2009
http://thedogdoonercafe.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
The choir I sing with at school is known for it's version of Wade in the Water. It is easily the most requested piece we perform. The song begins with my friend M. singing from the audience. The song builds as the choir appears from within the gathered people. Layer upon layer of music is stacked, one upon the other. Chanting- wade in the water, wade in the water. They're desperate for you to join them- -"wade in this. At our most recent concert, the single voice lamenting its situation cut me like never...

Aunt Sarah FTW |

Remember that birthday present. I built for my niece? Well, her birthday is over a week away, but yesterday she got her present! My parents were storing the table at their house. Obviously it’s not that easy to hide, so yesterday when my parents were babysitting Brenna, she got herself an early birthday present. I like to think she’s saying, Aunt Sarah is so awesome. She made me an entire table and I don’t even have to share it with big kids! The table rather than. 8211; Sarah #2. From your own site.

I’m in Love |

I’m in Love. You heard that right. I’m in love. I’m in love with Wegmans. Sunday night I went to the grand opening of the Wegmans in Malvern, PA, and I liked it so much, I’ve been back every single day since. Have you ever been to a Wegmans? Previously I had only been once after my friend, Ashley, would not shut up about how awesome it would be and how it would change my life. They sell 6-packs of beer. In PA, the law states that the only way you can purchase a 6-pack of beer (or Smirnoff, etc) is fr...

The Dog Dooner Cafe': The Agony in the Garden
http://thedogdoonercafe.blogspot.com/2010/04/agony-in-garden.html
The Agony in the Garden. Whatever veil of mercy shrouds the dark. Wound that stops weeping in no one, cannot. Stop the torrent of night when it buries thought. And heart beneath the black tears of the earth. Through scragged bush the moon discovers his face,. Dazed inside the sound of Gethsemane,. Subsiding under the weight of silence. That entombs the cry of his terrified prayer. What light could endure the dark he entered? The void that turns the mind into a ruin. The Agony in the Garden.

Alternatively, I’ll take a broom |

Alternatively, I’ll take a broom. Pertinent piece of information #1:. My best friend, Laura. Lives in Memphis. I’m not very good at Math. Or Geography. However, according to my calculations, Memphis is about 3902394203.9 miles from where I currently reside. That is so gosh darn far. So far, in fact, that they don’t have a Dunkin Donuts. In lieu of iced coffee delights from the DD, they have what seems to be a tornado once a week. Seriously. Pertinent piece of information #2:. In the world of my dreams I ...

True Life: I’m a stalker |
https://sewwhatsarahs.wordpress.com/2010/08/12/true-life-im-a-stalker
True Life: I’m a stalker. I stalk my best friend, Laura. I am not even kidding. I literally stalk her. Is she on gchat? Is she on Facebook chat which I hate but will use to talk to her in extreme instances? So a few days ago I see via Xbox that she’s on her Xbox watching Season 2 of Veronica Mars. I call her. She does not answer. I leave a message roughly saying, Dude. You are watching Veronica Mars. TALK TO ME. She calls me. I miss it. I call her. She misses it. And so on. 8211; Sarah #2.
