April 30, 2015. Japanese food and drink…part 1. I will start by showing you the recently discussed Takoyaki. There are street vendors all over the Kansai area selling Takoyaki. You can watch them being flipped so fast, blink and you’ll miss it. The Kansai area incorporates Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Mie and a couple of other prefectures but Takoyaki was said to have first originated in Osaka. May 21, 2016. Update since last post…. Well it’s been 3 weeks since I wrote a blog vowing to get fit again. If you didn’t read it, I basically blamed Christmas for my weight gain…well it is the season of indulgence! So about 3 weeks ago I weighed 10 stone 6lbs, the heaviest I have been since my late teens/early 20’s. Hardly any of my jeans fit me anymore, and my work trousers were getting tighter on me to the point where I was scared to bend over. The weight loss has been due to a number of factors….

Some of the lambs and piglets on the farm were only a few weeks old and it was lovely to see what are usually classed as the first signs of Spring. Being very quick and unpredictable I had to change the setting on my camera for some of the animals. Outside most restaurants in Japan are what can only be described as ‘food art’, which is perfect in a global culture that is obsessed with #foodporn.
