Russet Street Reno: December 2014
http://www.russetstreetreno.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 11, 2014. I wanted to share our mostly-finished dining room. This used to be a strange little space complete with off-center boob light and awkward tile near the door to the garage. Well, the tile is still there because we really do need it, but I think the addition of our teal rug really helps the space feel cozy and intentional. And no more boob light! We have also started installing the new white baseboard which we love. The new chandelier is this one. From Sea Gull lighting. In the...

Russet Street Reno: August 2015
http://www.russetstreetreno.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 11, 2015. When we bought this house, the downstairs family room looked like this:. The most offensive parts of the this room were:. The stupid corner shelves on either side of the fireplace that were meant to hold decorative plates, but were useless for anything else. The huge gas fireplace itself and the brassy fireplace front. The awful brown brick accent walls.but at least its real brick fronts and not faux panels. The boob light above the fireplace. On the ceiling rather than the pane...

Russet Street Reno: January 2015
http://www.russetstreetreno.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 22, 2015. This post is not a (very) belated Christmas decoration update, but instead a peek at our new white baseboards. Just in case you are offended that my blog didn't provide any Christmasy inspiration, I submit the only good holiday-esque photo I took this year.and that isn't even our tree! I could not get this child to sit remotely still or even stand by our tree, so I put a cookie on the branch of my mom's tree and told him he could eat it if he could find it. Success! Luckily, t...

Russet Street Reno: April 2015
http://www.russetstreetreno.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 8, 2015. I'm not quite sure what to label this bathroom. I suppose it should be considered the 'main' bath in the house because it's the only one with a tub, and it's the one most everyone uses since it's closest to the living room. It could also be the 'guest' bath because we have our own master bath and this one is right across from the guest room. Whatever it is, it needs help! The vanity has those typical 70s doors that so many old kitchens had. We have the old kitchen cabinets t...

Russet Street Reno: August 2014
http://www.russetstreetreno.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 18, 2014. Two Fridays ago our painters started working on the house. And I was so nervous that I made the wrong choice picking SW Muddled Basil right up until they were putting it on. And then I was so happy, because it was exactly what I wanted. Gray, not too green.and moody, but neutral. I don't know, I'm just making this crap up. I just wanted it to look awesome and it does! Like our grass, that looks pretty finished, too. It was quite a debacle, too. We still have the little row of...

Russet Street Reno: February 2015
http://www.russetstreetreno.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 25, 2015. While I work on finishing Ashford's room, I wanted to share the little transformation in our typical '70s ranch' hallway. Here is how it looked when we first moved in. Dark, boring, empty.but accessorized with a cute kid! To be fair, this is an awful photo, so it's not really a fair representation. We do get some decent light in this hallway during the day, as you can see in this photo from the floor refinishing project. But be sure to call them to get the best price! I actu...

Russet Street Reno: July 2015
http://www.russetstreetreno.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 24, 2015. Our house is sold! And, presenting our master bedroom. Ok, I've been totally missing in action because we've just been so busy with all our house shuffling. We sold our home in 6 days, which is awesome! I chose BM Edgecomb Gray for the walls, it is a very nice neutral that reads warm gray. A favorite with designers, I'm told! While the tan looks ok in these very bright photos, it was quite dark and dated most of the time. And here is the after. Mind-blowing, I know. I realize we ha...

Russet Street Reno: June 2015

Monday, June 15, 2015. I'm still around and working my butt off on this house, despite my lack of posting! Our bathroom is 95% done, still waiting for a silly shelf that apparently had to be hand made by artisans before they could ship it to me. I hate waiting! That reveal will come next week, I promise. For now, I have some news to share. Shaun has been offered his exact position with TJ Maxx in the Chicago market, so we are moving very soon! Very simple and clean. The goal was to have a three foot ...
