From the front porch. A gathering place for my thoughts, ideas, and recollections. He’s half a year old…and we have a front porch! October 4, 2010 in Uncategorized. How time flies when you are renovating a charming 100 year old home and watching your baby grow up before your eyes! On September 1st, Faris and I closed on a home built in 1907–our first house! But I digress. Onto the more important news at hand: Henry is 6 months old! 6 Months old and very tired for the pic. Starring the Big Sitter! Haha He...

Monday, June 30, 2008. Tenure -The Holy Grail of a Professors Life. For a professor tenure is a big deal! Holy grail might be a bit strong-there's always full-professor! So Jay (John) received tenure in June! Now he can continue being the radical that he is with a certain measure of safety! He was also promoted to Associate Professor! All the folks who drove in from around the Delta. Many thanks to Cameron, Sarah, Amy, Emily, and Emily's Jay for the cooking. Thanks to everyone for keeping the secret!

Sunday, July 08, 2007. July 08, 2007. I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Interesting.this is one of my fav. verses, and today I couldn't remember exactly where it was in Philippians. Well, my handy "verse for the day" facebook application had this as the verse (as if it read my mind). How ironic, eh? Some random warm fuzzies from this week/weekend:. Friday night fireworks @ Comerica Park. City Fest jazz band: Gorilla Funk Mob! Caribou Coffee-catching up with friends!

http://onaramblings.blogspot.com/2007/08/help-me-decide-on-couch.html
Saturday, August 25, 2007. Help me decide on a couch. So i found these cute leather couches.but i'm torn btwn. red or black. black is def. easier to match, but the red is bold and different! The red actually looks nicer at the store than how it looks in the pic! It's hard finding furniture that is fairly inexpensive. help. Go with red. And if it doesn't match, go with the dorm room look. :). The red couches are fabulous! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Sunday, January 11, 2009. Nothing like IHOP and Papa Joe's with my mom and sis =]. Leona, thanks for the encouragement and I'm delighted that you're blogging again! I'm considering visiting D.C. Easter Weekend.that is if Jim is available. That's also the last weekend of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. That's a nice looking IHOP! I've actually only been to an IHOP once, back in 2003. I guess right now I'm kind of in Waffle House. We could do IHOP for breakfast and Five Guys for lunch :).

Exquisitely Mundane: April 2012
http://exquisitely-mundane.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Find the beauty in the unseen. Monday, April 16, 2012. I have been sewing a lot lately. I showed you guys the skirt I made out of a bedsheet. And I made a dress for Easter that fell apart the second I stepped out of the door (note: DON'T baste zippers and expect them to stay together), and I just finished a maxi dress that I am in LOVE with. That gave me some ideas. Monday, April 2, 2012. I have gotten into sewing, or should I say "rediscovered my passion for it.". For Christmas I requested a sewing mach...

Find the beauty in the unseen. Monday, April 2, 2012. I have gotten into sewing, or should I say "rediscovered my passion for it.". For Christmas I requested a sewing machine. Now, you should know that I am not the greatest at follow through when it comes to projects (see this blog.) But, sewing is one thing that I have always enjoyed doing, even if I have little patience for patterns. It's a gathered skirt, with a flat front waist band. There is elastic in the back half of the band. It has two l...
