Friday, January 19, 2007. I totally got out of the habit of taking pictures of works in progress during the Christmas Knitting Mania, because I knew I wouldn't be posting them until they were finished. However, given the nature of the current WIPs, it will be a long drought without pictures if I keep forgetting to do photo shoots. (Do you like how I say that like before the Christmas knitting I took WIP photos all the time? Even better, when I was reading over the pattern in advance (! It is so shimmery.

Friday, March 10, 2006. I've been neglecting this lately, and there are several good reasons for it. One of them, though, is the biggie. So I cry in bed, and then I get up and leave so I don't wake up Jamie, partly because I don't want to disturb him and partly because I really do hate crying in front of other people - I'd rather just be left alone to sob and get it out of my system rather than feeling like I need to control myself, because that way I never seem to cry enough. She almost died once before.

Tuesday, March 13, 2007. Last minute knitted gifts is right! Well, nothing like finishing your gift 12 hours and five minutes before the baby shower starts. Yikes! When I got home on Sunday night, I buckled down and knit 90% of the first sleeve while watching the Amazing Race. I finished the first sleeve off tonight before dinner, and then started the second one before heading out to Stitch n Bitch. It is also very forgiving to seam with. I wove in the eleventy million ends (damn intarsia! Needles: Addi ...

Friday, August 18, 2006. Calgary has quite the mythic reputation in Edmonton. They have more yarn stores than us, and the general opinion is that they are vastly superior. Now, I wondered how much of that was just that whole grass-is-greener approach. And then I went. So I wandered around and drank an entire pot of fresh brewed loose Earl Grey tea. Now that is service! I've bought Manos before, but not for myself. It is an absolutely gorgeous colour, see? I then started poking through the sock yarn. ...

Wednesday, November 30, 2005. It's dangerous to be completely redoing your site six days before you're supposed to be writing in it every single day. Written at 1:11 AM by SarahJanet. Sunday, November 20, 2005. Things are moving and shaking over here at the moment, so stay tuned for some changes. If you're looking for my book log, it has made the logical leap over to http:/ sarahjanetbooks.blogspot.com. More should be showing up here in a week or two. Written at 2:06 AM by SarahJanet.

Sunday, January 29, 2006. Because I am nothing if not a fan of collaborative projects, I have signed myself up for the Knitting Olympics. I am feeling the lull of post-Holidailies and post-NaNoWriMo blues that always hits in January, so I'm dedicating much of my February to knitting my first ever pair of socks. I'm quite excited about it, and as time zips by I find it hard to resist picking up my extremely cute stripy sock yarn and getting started. I am passing the time this weekend with a Booga Bag.

Thursday, May 18, 2006. The first round win led to a rowdy party that went pretty late - that was the first time since 1998 that they'd made it even to the second round. (Welcome to being a small market team fan. Thank you, Collective Bargaining Agreement, for making it suck less to be an Oilers fan! Then, since the game four win was on a Friday night, another huge party erupted on Whyte Ave, and we headed down. Even bigger party, much rowdier. I'm telling you, hockey on a 30 degree day is just.weird.

Tuesday, July 25, 2006. Live thrilling sock action! So it's 2:22am, and I am up as usual, knitting. I'm knitting a little bit more frantically than usual, though. Why, you ask? A baby impending or something else exciting? Surely my reasoning must be thrilling, right? Yes, I'm using a different sized needle for the leg and the foot. Because I'm anal.). Anyway, I'm zipping through the toe decreases and I've only got.oh, lordy. 24 rows to go? It's only 2:59am. I can still get 7 hours of sleep, and I'm s...
