fitting sarah: ::HSF '14.1:: make do and mend

http://www.sarahlizzi.blogspot.com/2014/01/hsf-141-make-do-and-mend.html

Sunday, January 26, 2014. HSF 14.1: make do and mend. Anyone who has ever been to a Regency-era event with me anytime since the Baltimore CostumeCon knows that my bodiced petticoat was held together by one lone button for years before it became the task of a large safety pin (or two linked together, depending on my weight). Well, I found all 4 buttons and sewed them back on, and made a little filler piece to accommodate the current size of my back. 8 buttons (4 of which I already had).

Jenni-Style!: June 2014

http://jenni-style.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, June 18, 2014. My new baby, and a second Miette skirt! I am very pleased to announce the arrival of my bundle of joy:. At 124 lbs and 11" tall, this beauty arrived early on 6/7/14. Yes, I'm a dork! This is my birthday present from my husband! And also, not having to hand sew them, which I'm willing to do for my historic costumes, but not so much for all these modern things I've been making! Which means it wouldn't feel so wasteful to buy yet another machine. I researched all kinds of embroider...

Here to give my thoughts on daily life. November 13, 2012. Today several friends and I got together and went into Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA. We then proceeded to hold up signs that said “FREE HUGS” and gave away a combined total of over 300 hugs. Yea…It’s been a good day 🙂. October 27, 2012. WE’RE GONNA GET A LITTLE MAD HERE…. OKAY First off…. How do you know that when you’re safe in your homes? Not knowing what true fighting is about. How do you know when you’ve never experienced bombs ...That yo...

Sarah Lizzies

Sunday, July 5, 2015. Sometimes a gal has just gotta sew. Another week has passed. Another week somewhat similar to the last one with daily zaps of radiation treatments for my husband, daily strolls around the city, some drives to surrounding towns and a week where a gal has just gotta sew. At the moment my husband is having his daily snooze whilst I sit here effusing about my latest tarted up jacket. Did I say I am not a fan of the colour brown? Perhaps one of these days I will happen upon one. Normally...
