Ramblings and Scribblings of a Salford based Playwright and Poet. Napowrimo and Freewriting Prose. April 6, 2015. April 6, 2015. I’ve mentioned that I’ve been doing prose free-writes alongside napowrimo. These are just unedited little bits of writing that are kickstarted or inspired from poems I’ve been reading by other participants. He liked it and asked if he could use it on his blog, so you can now read it there (along with his Ghost Story sequence) if you are interested. You can find it here:. Enter ...

Ramblings and Scribblings of a Salford based Playwright and Poet. March 10, 2015. March 10, 2015. I’ve not been very good at blogging but I thought I’d give it another try. I’ll start with a little poem I wrote over a week ago, after Geraldine Green posted the first two lines in response to seeing the story about the eight year old American girl who receives little gifts from crows. Here’s a link to the original news story: http:/ www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-31604026. Blessed be the pure of heart. In res...

First drafts served daily. April 4, 2013. Seaside towns with party hearts. Houses in colours, terraced like books. An imitation wheel eyes the pier. The cheap B&B gives a double room. I didn’t ask, not for checkout time either. Got charged double. fuck. Booked and planned in two hours. One hour on the bus to Victoria. Got free apricot spirits. Spent a fuck-tonne on spirits anyway. Pacing shingle beaches to keep up. Giving up and screaming it out. 8217;cause you doubt anyone can hear you over the waves.

First drafts served daily. April 1, 2013. Stars are a clichéd way to start a poem. But they don’t happen in the capital. What with streetlights and cars,. And signposts and bridges,. The collective living room windows,. Lazy late-night lights from fridges. I tell you I miss that, over a pint. In Burnley and I’m not sure you get. Why I’d want rid of the stars in favour of. Light pollution and the ability to humour. My chronic insomnia. It’s true –. There’s far more to do –. After the kids are in bed.

The World at Your Doorstep
The World at Your Doorstep. I wasn't doing the best job keeping family and friends updated about my travels, much less keeping track of them myself. So I created this blog to store and share pictures, thoughts and stories from each trip. Enjoy! Jan 14, 2010. To see my pictures of Mali. After the meeting concluded, I drove through the beautiful Sahel landscape back to Bamako in time to have a lovely Vietnamese (clearly) meal with colleagues from Cameroon and Niger. I then spent the following day touri...

Saturday, September 28, 2013. Tour Frequently Asked Questions. Q Are you coming to my home town? A Possibly. You need to check my full list of tour dates bearing in mind that we sometimes revisit places later in the tour. Sadly, I can't visit every place so you may need to travel a bit. Likewise if the show closest to you has sold out then perhaps you could see if there's anywhere else you can get to. Tour dates are here: http:/ www.sarahmillican.co.uk/live-tour. Q I'm skint but really want to see you.
