The point is, that if I have the willpower to get through that (along with the cold, dark, miserable, winter mornings), I can get through anything. My work commute is only about 9 kilometres each way, but if I ride to work most days and knock out a ride on the weekend I easily top 100 kilometres a week. For the mind, the body and the soul…. What I thought would be an easy way to get back into it turned out to be quite tough. My run turned into a walk. But at least I was up and out and moving. As my dear ex-military and multi marathon runner gramps always says “you’ve got to have discipline in life, without discipline everything turns to crap”. And when you combine cashews with bananas you’ll be singing from the rooftops because bananas also contain tryptophan.
