Although we had a litle drive around Flagstaff that evening it was just a short stop. If anything stays with me, everytime I hear a freight train in the USA, I always think of Flagstaff. I wish we did have more time to spend there, but one of the highlights of the road trip was next on the Agenda….Meteor Crater. Flintstones Campground, AZ.

Due to a combination of the Great Depression where copper prices dropped and subsidence in Jerome due to the amount of mining also started to make the town drop, Jerome became a shadow of it former self. In all honesty, it was too hot to do anything fun this year. For me, anyway. I didn’t even swim! Pretty sure that’s the first time in my life I went a whole summer without swimming.
