A moment to live. May 20, 2015. A little over ten years ago, Papa and Granny Grant (my husband’s grandparents) gave us an Easter Lily to mark the birth of our first child. The occasion was even more special because our daughter was born on Granny Grant’s 70. The lily has bloomed every year, even surviving the move to our new house in 2009. I am a Master Pastellist in the Pastel Society of America, a Copley Artist in the Copley Society of Boston, and a Craftsman in the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society, which is my home base. My grandmother, Sara Hayes Fawcett, was my first teacher. She studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and with Howard Pyle in Philadelphia. I also studied at the PAFA. Who is another granddaughter of Sara Hayes Fawcett. As Cousin Debby says, "This collection on the website is just the tip of the iceberg.".
