Sarah in the City

Sarah in the City. Or maybe I should say, the suburbs. Thursday, July 16, 2015. Introducing Yaniv Shmuel Pritzker. If you spoke to me at all during this pregnancy, you know that we had a very hard time coming up with boy's names. We knew we wanted to name our little boy after Menachem's grandfather, Samuel, but had trouble coming up with a first name that would fit the following criteria:. No "resh" or "het" or "chaf" - hard to say for us Anglos in Israel. Game, but when she said Yaniv, I was stumped!

Sarah in the City: March 2012

http://sarinthecity.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Sarah in the City. Or maybe I should say, the suburbs. Wednesday, March 21, 2012. My Innocent Little Poet. Yesterday, while walking home from the park, we heard a monkey cackling! Well, not really. There was a woman on her phone laughing very loudly (in one of the apartments we were passing), and Hila looked at me and said, completely seriously, "Mommy! I hear a monkey! She really, truly thought there was a monkey. And THAT reminded me of a Bukowski poem that I really like:. I Met A Genius. Awesome Inc&#...

Sarah in the City. Or maybe I should say, the suburbs. Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Weaning Cold Turkey: 1 Day Down. In the middle of the night she cried (as usual), and Menachem went in, rubbed her back for a minute, and left, and she fell right back asleep! That doesn't usually work so well, so that's progress already! In the morning, I swooped her out of the crib with a big smile and got her a cup of milk (that she didn't touch of course), but she was happy. Tuesday, May 29, 2012. My Thoughts On Zumba.

Sarah in the City. Or maybe I should say, the suburbs. Wednesday, July 18, 2012. My Love/Hate Relationship with Cereal Sales. Some background information that you probably already know:. 1 I love cereal more than most people. 2 Cereal in Israel is expensive, especially good cereals. When good cereal is around, I neglect all other food groups and end up eating cereal for every meal of the day. This is probably not healthy. So what do I do? But then - we're out of cereal! And it begins all over again.

Sarah in the City: From Joy to Cockroaches

http://sarinthecity.blogspot.com/2012/11/from-joy-to-cockroaches.html

Sarah in the City. Or maybe I should say, the suburbs. Thursday, November 08, 2012. From Joy to Cockroaches. I woke up in such a good mood today for the following reasons:. My first thought of the morning was, "Menachem gets home today! This is after 2 solid weeks of miluim. The kids, who now share a room, both slept through the night. This has only happened one other time in the last few months. Related to #2, the kids wore light sweaters and I wore jeans - also the first time in about 7 months. I screa...

Menachem In Israel | Thoughts on living and building a business in Israel

http://www.menachempritzker.com/blog

Thoughts on living and building a business in Israel. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Can’t get away from faxes in this country…. May 27, 2014. Last night, we ordered sushi from Atza, which has a great online menu (it’s really a pleasure ordering from there, all online menu’s should be done the same way). It’s always nice to support Israeli businesses that are on the cutting edge of hitech. It all comes back to that? This country is insane. Unicorns Are Not Important. November 6, 2013.

Oh, the things they say. 2 Funny Kid Comments. 1 - I was talking to Sammy (4 years old) about summer vacation. I asked if he would like to have a sleepover with Jonah at his grandparents in Jerusalem. He was thinking about it and wanted to know what they would do. I said during the day maybe they could go somewhere fun, like the zoo. My kids are CONSTANTLY asking to go to the zoo! Oh, the things they say.

The Random Traveller, and Other Stories. Random musings on family, work, stories and poetry. Tuesday, July 5, 2011. Spelling has always been important to me, however in my rush to get ideas down, I may ignore misspellings only to hope that upon proofreading I am able to catch any errors. I teach my students that spelling is vital, but getting your thoughts down is what is most important. All the energy spent on editing can come later. That works in theory, but not always perfectly. Spellings, pronunciati...

By the way, who invented cows anyway? Nat: G-d, of course. Noah: Who invented G-d? Dad: Interesting question there. Noah: Who invented G- d's. July 13, 2010 at 4:38 PM.

The Random Traveller, and Other Stories. Random musings on family, work, stories and poetry. Monday, June 15, 2009. Thinking of Iran and China. I remember Tienanmen Square. I remember the video that so hauntingly shows the single man in front of the tank. I remember the sinking feeling of doom and the disintegration of hope in the spark of Democracy. I think of Iran. And the random man felled by a pro-government projectile. And the smiling leader who feigns fortitude and normalcy. June 16, 2009 at 5:42 AM.
