Monday, June 22, 2015. Sassy celebrated the start of summer by knitting a baby pattern called "Snowflake." Talk about eccentricity. Knitted the preemie size to learn the lace diamond pattern. It might fit a large doll. The yarn was fingering weight and the needle size was #6. The yarn color is actually a pale green but the sunlight and the dark green leaf caused it to photograph as off-white. My heart belongs to lace diamonds. Sassy will definitely knit snowflakes again. Saturday, July 25, 2015. Last week Sassy and her daughters and granddaughters set out on a "Vision Quest." The Lakota Sioux call the quest to find a new vision: "Crying for a Dream." We traveled to Skaneateles ( a long arduous journey) to meet the incomparable Saori weaver Karen Pardee (definitely a wise women). The photo captures three generations weaving a memory together. Saori emphasizes finding one's creativity in the joy of weaving. It was a dream come true. July 25, 2015 at 5:44 PM.
