I’m running a bit late, though I did take complete the challenge in time! The July 2010 Daring Bakers’ challenge was hosted by Sunita of Sunita’s world life and food. Sunita challenged everyone to make an ice-cream filled Swiss roll that’s then used to make a bombe with hot fudge. Her recipe is based on an ice cream cake recipe from Taste of Home. I have always liked ginger, (how do you like the above photo in front of some of my ginger plants? I now make them every Christmas and then some. When I asked my friend Biren of Roti n Rice if she ever made ginger ice cream and she came up with this great Ginger Tea Ice Cream. She isn't old enough for the ginger liqueur, but that's okay! 1 organic vanilla bean. 1/3 cup sugar (scant).
