The Burri: Four Weeks and Four S's
http://theburri.blogspot.com/2015/07/four-weeks-and-four-ss.html
A family seeking to glorify God through day to day life. Friday, July 10, 2015. Four Weeks and Four S's. We are presently exactly four weeks away from Hannah's upcoming palate repair. Truth be told, we are still, to some extent, recovering from her lip repair that was completed in the end of April. Y'all have been such wonderful prayer warriors for us in this marathon of adoption, we couldn't face this surgery without you involved! Would you also pray over her thumb and finger sucking? 3) Surgeon-Continu...

The Burri: July 2015
http://theburri.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
A family seeking to glorify God through day to day life. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. I would be lying if I said our family hasn't dealt with a certain degree of growing pains since we added our fourth child to the family in February of this year. We have all had our ups and downs and personal struggles that come as a result of big life changes. It has been no different for Grace. Friday, July 17, 2015. For My Fellow Shoppers. Please forgive me. This is a public service announcement. I should. If this had b...

The Burri: May 2015
http://theburri.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
A family seeking to glorify God through day to day life. Wednesday, May 13, 2015. More {Mother's Day 2015}. It is a little late, but we celebrated our first Mother's Day with Hannah in our family this past weekend. It was a big day for Miss H. She participated in our Parent-Congregational Prayer Covenant (think Dedication Service) at church that morning and then went to her very first "large" family gathering (outside our home! Is blessing. Yes, more. Makes more joy as well. She looks like someone so dif...

Off Rhythm: A sobering self assessment
http://offrhythm.blogspot.com/2012/08/a-sobering-self-assessment.html
Friday, August 24, 2012. A sobering self assessment. About a year ago I was reading through a book of modern parables by an Irish theologian. After reading a parable I would take some time and reflect on it over a cup of coffee. One of these parables had a dramatic affect on me because it made me question one of my most foundational assumptions. Essentially I asked myself: "If I stopped believing in God tomorrow, how would my life change? The things I was doing for God did not require a belief in God.

Off Rhythm: September 2012
http://offrhythm.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 6, 2012. What would happen to me if I didn't want God's forgiveness? I had a great conversation recently with a couple of guys that I am discipling. We were talking about God's forgiveness and how accepting Jesus as our savior is the only way to accept that forgiveness (John 3:34-35). And that’s the question I was asked. (The context of this question was he felt like he didn't deserved God's forgiveness, not that he didn't need it.). So how would you respond to a question like this?

Off Rhythm: The Economy of Leadership
http://offrhythm.blogspot.com/2012/07/the-economy-of-leadership.html
Saturday, July 28, 2012. The Economy of Leadership. As someone who studies leadership, I am constantly amazed at how many concepts are involved in great leadership. One of these concepts is the economy of leadership. John C. Maxwell says "Leadership is influence, nothing more, nothing less.". With this in mind, we could say the economy of leadership is the process of gaining and leveraging influence. I hope this will catalyze your leadership. July 29, 2012 at 7:10 AM. Great thoughts, honey.

The Burri: December 2014
http://theburri.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
A family seeking to glorify God through day to day life. Tuesday, December 30, 2014. An Update from China and Glimpses of Love. Yesterday we received our final update about Hannah. In that update we found out about an accidental injury involving Hannah's index finger. While we were so sad to hear this news, it allowed us to communicate directly with the orphanage and foster parents to ask some questions in follow up to that piece of information. We could tell from the first message from them that they ca...

The Burri: November 2014
http://theburri.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
A family seeking to glorify God through day to day life. Tuesday, November 25, 2014. We have had many people ask, since we got our LOA, when we will be booking flights to travel, etc. We wish the LOA were the final piece of paperwork we needed, but unfortunately, it isn't. We will continue to plug along in the mass of paperwork and fees for several more weeks before we can officially book our travel and head to get our girl. After those items are complete, we will begin the Article 5 drop off and pick up...
