Life as we know it...: Veteran's Day
http://lifeasweknowit-howard.blogspot.com/2010/11/veterans-day.html
Life as we know it. Thursday, November 11, 2010. This is one of those odd Holiday's, like Memorial Day to put the word "Happy" in front of it doesn't make sense. It should be perhaps - Thank You Veteran's Day! Or even, somewhat lighter, "Hug a Vet Today" or "Kiss a Vet Today" or on the serious side "Salute a Vet Today". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Life as we know it...: June 2009

Life as we know it. Saturday, June 20, 2009. Fathers are amazing, they are so much different than Mothers, there are the obvious differences of course. But for me and my my Dad and my husband, they seem to be a heck of a lot calmer! My Dad's sense of humor is world famous these days and has kept the four of us in stitches all our lives and my Mother just rolling her eyes. They say women tend to marry men like their Fathers and I most definitely did! Happy Father's Day Billy! And Happy Father's Day Dad!

Life as we know it...: April 2010
http://lifeasweknowit-howard.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Life as we know it. Thursday, April 1, 2010. Yesterday I had to put my beloved dog, Chase, to sleep. He had gotten very sick, very fast and there wasn't much of a choice. But my heart is aching over this loss. He was the only tri-color in the group and had very distinct markings, he was beautiful. I know someday we will get another dog, but I know it will be quite a while before that happens. Chase was one of a kind and you can't destroy that memory with trying to fill the hole he's left. Life as we know it...: March 2010

Life as we know it. Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Some good friends and I met for some margaritas and social justice last week- I know odd combination, isn't it? It was a fun and interesting night and I have been pondering over what we discussed and am praying for the adventure we have before us. I have always been a social creature, always had lots of friends in different areas. But 10 years ago, when I began my "official" journey with bipolar, married Bill, had Connor and entered Mommyhood- I realized m...

Tuesday, September 28, 2010. September 28, 2010 question - Mr. Snark Goes to Washington. A guy with a sense of humor, or any sense for that matter, has no place in Washington. Photograph: Jim Lo Scalzo/EPA. Who founded the United Farm Workers of America? And the People Who Knew It. Cap'n Crunch's first name is Horatio. It says so on the Limited Edition Collector Card on the back of my throwback cereal box. Eat that, America. Seriously, it stays crunchy in milk and is delicious. The Mickey Tate Fan Club.

Wednesday, September 29, 2010. September 29, 2010 question - Hump (back) Day. It's Wednesday. Hump day. The day everyone realizes the week is half over and they should probably get to work. Excuse me for interrupting. But before I leave you to the sweet relief that Friday is near and the shocking realization that the end of your to-do list is not, please take a moment to appreciate this bit of random knowledge that won't help you in the least. The Animal Kingdom . . . no, wait, Movies. And the People Who...

Tuesday, March 31, 2009. March 31, 2009 question - Final Day of Trivia. Out Like a Lamb. March, GM, or Adam Lambert? American automakers are scaring the tar out of me. Hey maybe I'm on to something here. Any chance the Pennsylvania Dutch can take over the auto industry? I'm pretty sure they have some thoughts on alternative energy sources . . . like horses. (I wanted to say 'horses and buggies,' but it wouldn't rhyme.). Maybe these category clues should be bigger? I'm going to give you all another chance...

Wednesday, September 9, 2009. September 9, 2009 Question - Out of the Funk. Brought to you by George Clinton. I've been in a funk. But today, I'm coming out of it. Here is my trivia pledge:. I will send trivia out today. I will try to do it again tomorrow. I will limit my funk to bouncy, heavy-handed bass lines, the emphasis on the down beat, and spasmodic dancing. These are my goals. They are not as lofty as some might expect, but they are not as simple as they seem. And the people who knew it. It had b...
