Inside the wouf: SMS gateway with Meteor

Wednesday, August 12, 2009. SMS gateway with Meteor. While flat hunting in the area of Nantes, I started to be quite pissed off about being the 5th to call when an ad had been up for sometimes not even an hour. Basically, be the first, or be screwed. For the record, I have always been the first to call since then. If you are a pay as you go customer of Meteor. Some tamper data and mechanize later, the script was here, fully functionnal :. Event=smsAjax", [ajaxRequest = "sendSMS", func = "sendSMS", messag...

Thursday, February 25, 2010. Xen to KVM migration. I recently had to migrate a Centos (paravitualized) Xen domU to KVM, after some digging and cursing, here's how the magic operated :. First of all, stop the virtual machine (guest) and copy the virtual disk to the new location. We will use logical volumes for both virtual disks (orig/dest), because of the speed you gain compared to using files, and we will of course assume both are the same size (or at least the destination is bigger). We will need a nor...

User for years, I wanted to try the 4.x release, which is 4.1 at the moment in "intrepid", so I naturally went for kubuntu. Tried KDE 4.1 for 2 days, tweaked it as much as I could to make it fast, and how I wanted it to behave, which did not seem to be possible. I now understand why Linus said he switched to gnome. Sda5 [256 Mo] : ext3 /boot. So I changed the ...

Tuesday, November 23, 2010. PAX on amd64 without the NX bit set. I recently upgraded a server to linux 2.6.36 (amd64) with the last VServer and grsecurity. I had 2 issues :. A kernel panic on boot using UDEREF/amd64, and paxtest (0.9.9, available at http:/ grsecurity.net/ spender/. Reporting that PAX wasn't protecting my binaries as it should. Relies on the NX. There is still a tiny problem though : this box is hosted (OVH kimsufi), and I don't have access to the bios. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
