I play masters water polo for Central Valley Water Polo Club. We train at Sunnyside High School in Fresno, CA. We practice Tuesday and Thursday nights 7:00 - 9:00 pm. from January to June. Monday, June 11, 2007. Parents. Period. Most of us have children, and want the best for them. We nuture, discipline, teach, comfort, and push our children amongst many other things we do. BUT-there comes a point in athletics where someone needs to give parents a reality check. Sunday, May 27, 2007. Today we finished our annual Girl's Basketball Memorial Weekend Tournament at FCC ( prior to FCC, we ran this at Reedley College). It is a great fundraiser for our program, but more importantly, it brings all the girls together for some early bonding. We have about 20 local high school teams who participate. It is well organized, and run professionally with CIF officials. Teams are guaranteed 5 games. Good Stuff. And people wonder where kids pick it up? My six year old was with me a...

Tuesday, June 24, 2008. It's been over a year, but this blog has been reactivated. I have been busy with life (parenting, husbandry, teaching, coaching, being a student). Five weeks of school left, and it will all be worth it. More importantly, the Fresno St. dogs will be playing for the National title in baseball.I'm stoked. Thursday, July 31, 2008. We made it to MI with little fanfare on the flights here. Kids did great on the plane and are having fun already! Tanner and Karis can't believe the size and the "fun" yard at the house with a trampoline, kick the can, the twisty swing, etc. I thought the fireflies would make a bigger splash. Friday, June 15, 2007. Why are you yelling? This week I was reffing high school games and I really got a chance to observe coaches and noticed a interesting trend. Most coaches yell a lot. But that's not news to anyone but when I listened to what they were yelling about I noticed that they didn't say much. There was a lot. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? HUSTLE, WAKE UP JIMMY.
