The Saucy Saucer

Monday, June 21, 2010. I saw King Kong. And then a rappelling Ninja-samurai. Some of the most incredible Japanese sculpture is the life-like dishes of food outside many restaurants' front windows. But my favourite sculptures were these little disc golfing figurines, sold at the tournament. Most street-level shops and homes have container gardens outside their doors in Japan. They're imaginative, playful, well-tended, wild, colourful, whimsical, so cool. Reminiscing - the courses of the Japan Open 2010.

The Saucy Saucer: Reminiscing - the courses of the Japan Open 2010

http://saucysaucer.blogspot.com/2010/06/reminiscing-courses-of-japan-open-2010.html

Monday, June 21, 2010. Reminiscing - the courses of the Japan Open 2010. Couldn't resist posting a few more shots - the courses were just spectacular. Here's hole 11 on the Fujin [wind] course, taken from the teepad. It's 272 ft, a par 3, and described in the caddie book as "It is a very few birdie chance hole. The one to be aimed is "Star Flame". The same hole from its tee. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

The Saucy Saucer: Shinkansen - bullet train

http://saucysaucer.blogspot.com/2010/06/shinkansen-bullet-train.html

Thursday, June 17, 2010. Shinkansen - bullet train. Train coming into Nasu station - they went through so quickly they were difficult to photograph. The interior of the train - very clean new and comfortable, similar to the inside of a plane. Coming into Tokyo station. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

The Saucy Saucer: Tokyo - Asakusa

http://saucysaucer.blogspot.com/2010/06/tokyo-asakusa.html

Thursday, June 17, 2010. The five-storied pagoda in Asakusa: a beacon for the best tchotcke shopping ever. I bought some beautiful replica woodblock prints and lots of presents to bring home. Shopping kiosks along the mall before they became really busy. A statue of a famous kabuki actor. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

SAUCY | 2 Girls, 1 Hawk

2 Girls, 1 Hawk. April 8, 2013 by Amanda. In order to honor Lilly Pulitzer, who passed away yesterday, here’s a link. To some great desktop wallpapers. Lilly started juicing citrus grown at her family’s groves at a juice stand but was always covered in juice stains at the end of the day. She designed her first shift dress as a way to mask the stains and the rest is history! Posted in Uncategorized Tagged desktop. April 1, 2013 by Amanda. And how right was I about March zooming by? How exciting is THAT?
