I love encountering most wild animals while wandering in the outdoors, although I think a grizzly or a mountain lion (both of which I have seen from inside vehicles) seen up close would make me pretty nervous. Black bears and coyotes are a treat, though. Here are a couple of the latter. Why grandmother, what big teeth you have!

Back in pre-retirement days, if we wanted to ski we didn’t have the luxury of choosing the days, so we mostly went regardless of weather. On the best days we left the house in thick valley fog, but as we drove up into the mountains we came out of it into glorious sunshine.
