Back to India: January 2008
http://saurisauri.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
The story of Sauri's return to India. Tuesday, January 8, 2008. Stuff stuFF. STUFF! It's January 8th, and finally. My house looks somewhat empty. I move out on the 13th. Most of the stuff is now gone. The shippers came over and picked up my 23 boxes (including my bicycle) this afternoon. My furniture is ready to be hauled away by a friend. My 2 suitcases to India are packed. Everything else - needs to be thrown away. This raised several questions in my mind. (1) Did I really need all this stuff? Couldn't...

The story of Sauri's return to India. Saturday, November 20, 2010. I, as an engineer, am used to certainty. At least I am used to aiming for it - knowing full well that I may not achieve it in every situation. While engineering doesn't always ensure perfect predictability, it is, by definition, a science aimed at minimizing uncertainity. But what about personal relationships? How far can or should we pre-calculate actions that we take? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Shashank's blog - very funny, great satire.

Back to India: Terrorism and War
http://saurisauri.blogspot.com/2008/12/terrorism-and-war.html
The story of Sauri's return to India. Saturday, December 6, 2008. I must confess that my reaction to the Mumbai attacks of last week was very different from mine to the September 11. 8211; it was not the scale of the attack, but the fact that. Thinking of which, what is the right approach to dealing with terrorism? More specifically, at what stage in the chain of terrorism does a state get involved? Here are some "entry points". The peace-lovers certainly would like to start at the "root cause" level.

Back to India: Why I can’t stand TV in India
http://saurisauri.blogspot.com/2009/03/why-i-cant-stand-tv-in-india.html
The story of Sauri's return to India. Monday, March 23, 2009. Why I can’t stand TV in India. I have returned to India after eight and a half years, and am absolutely repulsed by television here. If I thought media in the west went overboard trying to capture audiences' senses, TV in India is pure sensory overload. Here are ten reasons I just can't stand watching TV here:. There are at least five channels on each theme in each language (movies, religion, sports, soaps, news…). Half the screen in most prog...

The story of Sauri's return to India. Wednesday, December 31, 2008. On Corporate Social Responsibility. The most relevant of the four definitions at www.dictionary.com. Is "a particular burden of obligation. Upon one who is responsible." A further search of the word "responsible" results in several references to accountability. At this point, I have a couple of concerns with the direction the class discussion on this paradigm went. Philanthropy is not an obligation. On the other hand, the "R" in CSR ...
