Our Family Trip 2009. 2 impatient parents, 2 small kids, 4 bags, 7 months of travel , 12 countries, and 1000 diaper changes. Our upcoming 5 months trip in 2013. Since we didn’t have a car during our week in Upolu. We didn’t really see a lot of the island. Using the public busses wasn’t really an option either, they don’t run on any kind of schedule and waiting for them for 2 hours in the oppressive heat by the side of the road is just not practical with two whiny kids. If you would have asked us before the trip what the toughest stretches would be, we would have thought maybe Peru or the long hours in the car in New Zealand. Strangely, that’s not how it turned out to be at all. The worst days seem to be those on the beach. What should we do now daddy? How about looking at a book? No, we’ve looked at them all.
