Sunday, November 25, 2007. While we were in Washington, Drake took us to the DC Zoo. It's a great zoo. Just the right size for a couple of hours of walking and seeing the animals. And it's free! Only parking was $16, and the snacks were so overpriced. But we had a wonderful time. The animals were fairly active, and kids had a good time watching them. Thursday, March 25, 2010. Saturday we slept in, enjoyed Uncle Drakes Waffles with real Maple Syrup, wandered over to Great Falls state park, only to find out that everyone else was headed there too. Note: One lesson I learned through this whole thing is how harshly I have always judged those crazy animal lovers. Yes, some of them are still crazy, but I think I have had a small glimpse into their animal loving world, and understand the connection you can have with any living creature. .
