I've been living in the DR now for almost 9 months (crazy right? And there some crazy observations that need to be made, at least in comparison to Russia. As you'll see, this post lends itself to a StuffDominicansLike type of post I did with Russia and I'll most likely be starting that here in the next few weeks, but for the moment, here goes!

The Tales of a Scotsman True.in the DR! Monday, December 27, 2010. Planes, Trains and Automobiles.oh and Vodka and Christmas Day! Before I discuss my Christmas day on a bus/train, let me preface this post with a short description of my Christmas Eve. Oh and it was at the same club where I saw that guy get shot (I was told he's out of the hospital and fine now) and I was happy to see the club now has signs posted saying you can't bring in guns. http://crmcgregor.blogspot.com/2012/11/dominican-republic-bad-metro.html
The Tales of a Scotsman True.in the DR! Sunday, November 11, 2012. Dominican Republic - The Bad: The Metro. A couple weeks ago, I posted the 'bad' of the Dominican Republic, but I forgot one item that makes me extremely angry and needs to be addressed - the metro here in Santo Domingo. The metro here in the city is nice. It's clean, well policed and safe and despite there being only one line only going over a small portion of the city, there are problems with it. I can't handle it. These two things can s...

The Tales of a Scotsman True.in the DR! Wednesday, June 5, 2013. DR: A Bittersweet Goodbye. I haven't blogged in god only knows how long (I really need to work on that), but despite that fact, here I am again. I'm writing this post now before it gets too late and I find myself entrenched in the types of things that come with the end of a year (school year) and moving abroad. This is my goodbye blog and it's going to be bittersweet. When I first arrived here, I was hard on the country. I got here in J...

The Tales of a Scotsman True.in the DR! Sunday, September 18, 2011. 101 Things: #2, 35, 68, 99 and 101. Here's a quick post on my 101 things list. 2 - Get a job. 35 - Get a new hobby. When Ana and I moved into our new place here in SD, we found some plants in much need of care on our balcony. Together we have nursed them to a thriving state, as well as adding some new ones to the mix (Gold Zinnias and we're working on some cilantro) so hopefully this works out well! 68 - Go to an IKEA. As some of you hav...
