Public Beach Access in Maine. Other Issues Still To Be Decided. The Supreme Court remanded the Goose Rocks Beach case to Justice Brennan for disposition of the remaining issues. The most important remaining issue is the Town's claim to ownership of the beach. Justice Brennan previously ruled that the document central to the Town's Title Claim (the 1684 "Danforth Deed") did not confer title to the Town, it simply confirmed existing private titles.
