I'm not a big milk person. I'm more of a water or iced tea person, but sometimes a glass of cold chocolate milk is just what you need to get through a long afternoon with a toddler and a baby and the husband isn't coming home from work for another couple hours. Or is that just me? 2 tbsp. cocoa powder. 1/4 -1/2 cup of milk.

Today we went with some friends to the small town of Pottenstein in a mountainous area called the Fränkische Schweiz, or Franconian Switzerland, about an hour north of where we live. As you can see, it is a beautiful place. One of the best things about Pottenstein is the sommerrodelbahn. It is sort of like bobsledding in the summer time! Check out some of our footage from the bobsled-like track. Perhaps this can be one more way for us to entice you to come visit us!

There are three ways to reach the castle: ride in the enclosed back of a large truck, horse and carriage, or walk. We walked to the top. Friday, March 19, 2010. The Colosseum was next up on the John Huntley tour of Rome. We consider it kind of like a Lane Stadium with weapons, a place to go with 55,000 of your closest friends to catch a violent show. Call it what you will, it is stunning. Less historical maybe, but no less amazing, was this stairwell to the bathroom in a small cafe. More alarming than the stairwell was the surprise black-out mid-visit. While waiting for John to come back from his coin-toss I saw a couple get engaged.

Tuesday, July 6, 2010. This first video was taken just a few minutes after the game concluded. Cars were able to pass along the street with no problem in the beginning. You can see how full the streets became after only a few minutes. This picture also shows one of the useful things they do differently in Deutschland: the digital sign with the changing numbers tells you how many available spots are left in each of the three neighboring parking garages.
