Miss Albadea of Luther Marsh. West Montrose Kissing Bridge. Fabric 14″ x 22″. With this project, I wanted to create something that represented the old Grand River but is still in use today. I came up with the West Montrose Kissing Bridge. The bridge is still used by the Mennonites with their horse and buggies but also by cars. The river is also used for recreational water sports. Miss Albadea of Luther Marsh. Miss Albadea of Luther Marsh. At the headwaters of the Grand River we find Luther Marsh, a significant reservoir and natural habitat for many varieties of flora and fauna. Luther Marsh is a biological treasure tucked away in the upper reaches of the Grand River Valley and is one of southern Ontario’s most significant wetlands. Miss Albadea of Luther Marsh. Juno in her Solstice Celebration attire. June is Canadian Rivers Month, the month of the Summer Solstice and the Strawberry moon. Juno is an 18″ tall cloth soft sculpted Doll named after the month of June. Juno’s outfit is linen, her hair is yarn and the beads are glass. Her face is painted with soft body acrylics. Juno’s Medicine Shield depicts all the aspects of this busy month. A Strawberry bead for the Anishinabe moon, a river and the sun, all for June. You may use these.

Miss Albadea of Luther Marsh. I went to grade school in Elora and have fond memories of playing in the gorge under the watchful gaze of the David St. bridge. It was a time before the safety fences and we told ghost stories of the people who fell to their deaths in the gorge every year. Elora’s head is in the clouds as she sits holding the David St. bridge. Elora’s body is the sky, her arms and legs; the gorge walls and her skirts, the river itself. Soft Sculpted Cloth Art Doll.
