It has come to our attention that the tree on the corner of Redcross Way and Union Street is under threat of being cut down. This magnificent tree is a protected tree (Tree Protection Order Ref: 20) and in a conservation area, therefore it cannot be cut down without planning permission. The tree is full of life and has probably been here for 150 years or longer.
