How it all got started…. LearningMYway at Tamatea Intermediate. What the kids say…. July 1, 2015. It is ONE year since I discovered Twitter. What a journey. Over this time…. I have learnt more than my previous 20 years of teaching put together. I have ‘met’ hundreds of remarkable, supportive, positive people. I have engaged in discussions which provoke my thoughts. I have involved myself in twitter chats which encourage me to think critically about my beliefs. While on the #BFC630NZ kaupapa…must sa...

Collaborative Planning Mash Up. Last week I was talking with some teachers about different ways of planning together. Google Apps are often a "go to" tool for this and many teachers use them in amazing ways to share information, monitor and track data, record notes etc. We thought. Well, the good news is it can! 1 Set up your google form with the questions that you want. (This is actually a big deal! 2 Set up your Google Sheet with whatever data you want. How it all got started…. LearningMYway at Tamatea Intermediate. What the kids say…. June 5, 2015. The first reason for this post is to acknowledge my co-teacher. The hypothesis we are testing this year is all about providing our students with project/interest based lear...

How it all got started…. LearningMYway at Tamatea Intermediate. What the kids say…. Getting back in the waka. August 12, 2015. I am getting back in the waka after momentarily falling out! We talk about Growth Mindset with our learners. We talk about the importance of taking risks and accepting if we get things wrong it is okay as it means we just haven’t learnt enough YET or practiced enough YET. Once again this year I have taken a huge risk. This time…the outcome was not successful. Finding Agency →.
