I've been doing the $45 per week grocery budget for a couple months now, and I'm quite sure we can eat well and live comfortably on that amount. The main issue I've been running into is just exercising self control when it comes to good deals. I just need to remember that the deals always come around again! Anyway, here's the breakdown of what I did buy this week:. 1 pint milk = 1.00. Total = 1.00. 157 lbs oranges = 1.21. Total = 5.19.

My love of the crockpot continues to grow since it has been so hot I have no desire to turn on the oven or hang around a hot stove! Thursday, July 30, 2009. 1 lb thinly sliced steak. 1 package fajita sesoning mix, or homemade equivalent. 1 to 2 cups sliced bell peppers (I like a mix of green and red). 1 to 2 cups sliced onion. Toppings of your choice: grated cheese, sour cream, etc. Put meat in crockpot, top with seasoning, add water. Cook on low all day (8-10) hours. About 30 - 60 minutes before serving, add bell peppers and onions and mix well. Serve on warmed flour tortillas, top with cheese and sour cream. Posted by Savings Ninja.
