Making It Well: February 2015
http://makingitwell.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Fav Sewing, 2014 and earlier. Fav Knits, 2014 and earlier. Sunday, 22 February 2015. Finally) Complete: Red Linen Skirt. This post comes to you from the depths of the U.F.O (UnFinished Object) pile. This skirt sat unfinished for probably. a year? The pattern is New Look 6106. The fabric is linen, and I heroically fit the skirt out of the remnants of my linen dress. Which I totally don't wear because I over-tightened the shoulders). Wow, my blog's getting old now! I'll get way more wear out of it now.

Belated thoughts on the last year, with Lekala tops | no time to sew
https://notimetosew.wordpress.com/2015/02/22/belated-thoughts-on-the-last-year-with-lekala-tops
No time to sew. February 22, 2015. Belated thoughts on the last year, with Lekala tops. So, what do we think – is the end of February too late for a reflection on the previous year? Again and again). I remembered why I’d moved to an all-dress wardrobe in the first place (no fitting RTW pants), and now that reason had fallen away, leaving me with a whole new swath of wardrobe options to play with. Not really, I guess I just like weird necklines. The fabric is a lovely bamboo knit (I bought it in a few.

Vogue 1197: cozy tunic… and a new hobby | no time to sew
https://notimetosew.wordpress.com/2012/01/15/vogue-1197-cozy-tunic-and-a-new-hobby
No time to sew. January 15, 2012. Vogue 1197: cozy tunic… and a new hobby. After my failure in the fall to include any garments in my planning that would actually be practical for me (i.e., knits), I resolved to basically only make knit garments for winter. I’ve been liking tunics and short dresses to wear with leggings this year – comfortable and bike appropriate – and I’ve been trying to increase my stock of them. Here’s my latest addition:. This is the Vogue 1197. My full pattern review is here. Enter...

Fav Sewing, 2014 and earlier. Fav Knits, 2014 and earlier. Wednesday, 24 September 2014. Velvet Three-Quarter Circle Skirt. A while back, I bought some velvet. I FINALLY got around to working with it! I read up on velvet from a few sources and they all made it sound so hard. But it wasn't. So there. I already had a dowel lying around (weird), and I bought some adhesive velcro from Made on Marion. The adhesive didn't stick well enough so I'll have to top it up with some super glue! B) I am blind. Everyone...

Nihon Yuushi: 冬 - Winter in Japan
http://nihonyuushi.blogspot.com/2011/02/blog-post.html
Monday, February 7, 2011. 冬 - Winter in Japan. It might be a bit milder, but keeping warm is a bit of a challenge in Japan, but there's many options. In America, our solution is to crank up the central heating or grab an extra blanket/sweater (Snuggie anyone? In Japan, stores will have central heating, but many homes will not. Many rely on wall heating/cooling units or heaters/stoves. My schools use big gas stoves, one for each classroom. It's a band to put around your stomach to keep you warm, like a wa...

I hope all your overseas readers are enjoying the weather warming up.The winter chill is approaching here and I am not amused! Anyway, here's a top I finished a while back!
