Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Sawyer's communication skills continue to improve. This past week or so, he's gotten his third word: "Agua." Add that to "Dad" and "that" (which sounds like "dat," which sounds like "Dad," calling into question whether he really distinguishes between "that" and "dad" in the first place). In addition, he's using sign more effectively. He had his first bite of pancake this weekend, and very. Wednesday, October 7, 2009. Sawyer's been demonstrating his mad skillz lately.

It may be a father's proudest moment when his son first quotes a movie (even if he doesn't know he's doing so) - especially when the movie is a classic screwball comedy such as Sixteen Candles. Last night as Sawyer was eating dinner, he picked up some food and said "I want to run with it.". I, using my best Grandpa Howard imitation, replied, "Well you don't run with it, boy, you eat it! Monday, February 28, 2011. Sawyer just completed his second eight week "soccer class.". I use quotation marks because they don't really play soccer - there's a lot more bubble chasing than ball kicking - and it isn't really much of a class. Still, we've been doing it for the last 16 weeks or so, and it's become our Saturday morning routine. After everyone had gone she gave him one more chance, and he did great. March 1, 2011 at 10:10 AM. What a little sport! Congratulations, Pele in training!
