Thursday, February 23, 2012. Baby Elliot comes to town. In October Elliot Orson was born. I had no idea what to expect with a second child. Maybe I was wrong, but I just assumed that I would be a champ at dealing with two. I was nervous about Sawyer's reaction, but I thought everything else would be a breeze. I was way wrong. Sawyer picked up a few new faces and things he does, while Jake and I were in Boston.you'd think 5 days wouldn't be that much of a difference in growth, but it is! Opening his mouth wide saying "ahhhh while he eats. Pouty lips saying "ewwww gross". Instead of walking on tiptoes he is purposely walking only on his heels with his legs spread wide. Getting Basil in the bath. Reading to the dogs. Jumping on the trampoline. Terror at the zoo from the dinosaurs.

Monday, April 4, 2011. Unfortunately I got really dehydrated and sick too. We were both a mess, but Jake was nice and took good care of the both of us. When we got home Sawyer was soooo happy to see the dogs and the dogs were soooo happy to see him. I didn't realize that Basil liked Sawyer as much as she does, but since we got back she has been following him wherever he goes and licks him to pieces. So I wish I had a picture to update with Sawyer, but of course as soon as I get the camera or anything he stops doing what he was doing and wants me to hold him. Oh well. Ollie's absolute favorite thing to do right now, is stand in the open fridge or cupboard. if anyone opens either he makes a mad dash to get there before the door closes. he just sits and rearranges things. i don't know what's so interesting about zip lock bags or the mustard bottle, but maybe ollie is aspiring to work at a supermarket. No matter how hard we try, we cannot persuade ollie that playing with the garbage is disgusting! He loves to just open and close the lid, and recently has started taking things out if it's close to full. we tell him that it's gross, that he should play with his fridge of letters instead, but he remains unconvinced. i'm just waiting for things to start disappearing.

Sunday, November 8, 2009. Sometimes ollie wonders why i keep clicking the camera instead of picking him up, but i think his sad face is just about as cute as his smiling one. Sun, don't leave. Nothing better than enjoying the sun a little longer. it's nice that we've been able to get outside even though it's november! Ollie loves that he still gets to play in the sidewalk cracks, but he doesn't love that i won't let him eat the random mud, rocks, bugs or leaves that he finds there. Soaking up the sun.
