City, State, Zip. Or you get to squirrel away a nifty tidbit for your next effort. There are three sections here:. GETTING STARTED ON A NOVEL. GETTING SOME ACTION: WRITING FOOD, SEX, AND FIGHT SCENES. FINDING AND MAINTAINING A WRITING GROUP. They are just my take on things, gleaned from lectures, panels, and talks I've done. I look forward to adding more in the future, and if you have comments, feel free to drop me a line at: dana@danacameron.com. Getting Started on A Novel. What are you writing about?

Gaudy Patter: 4.52 to Pandeminum
http://archnoir.blogspot.com/p/a-town-called-pandemonium.html
Sam Swan’s mean as a hornet’s nest, everyone knows that. Jake figured wasps and hornets were pretty much kin, so that’s probably what mean as a hornet’s nest betokens; mean as the wasps when Bill Winter kicked up their nest. Jake was broken out of his reverie by a painful smash to his shoulder, strong enough to lump him forwards in his saddle until his balls hit the pommel. I’m sorry, sir. I was thinking. Thinking. Y'hear that, boys? Got someone you’re sweet on, huh? You thinking about some giii-rrrul?

Gaudy Patter
http://archnoir.blogspot.com/2013/12/i-was-poking-around-online-today-for.html
Monday, 9 December 2013. I was poking around online today for colloquial names for the Johnny Jump-up (or heart's ease, as it's commonly known in the UK), and here is a wonderful list! Also some desultory history and a little casual theorizing! A kiss behind the garden gate. Three faces under one hood (also "two faces under a hood" and "little faces."). Pink of my John (also Pink-eyed John; the one is probably a corruption of the other). Wild or field pansy (a common name in England). Call me to you.

Gaudy Patter: Stories of the Smoke

Thursday, 5 April 2012. Stories of the Smoke. Pandemonium: Stories of the Smoke. Is out, as of yesterday - and my story, "Uncle Smoke" (in which London's smog gives the world's pigeons some tourist info) is part of it. And, best of all, it's illustrated! The redoubtable Gary Northfield. Chose to illustrate a vignette from "Uncle Smoke" about Oliver Cromwell's decapitated head. His art is amazing, and showcases Ollie's desiccated melon in all its disgusting glory. Where shall we begin, my doves? And you m...

Wednesday, May 31, 2006. I may have to order. Seems interesting. Maybe I could find out if there is anyone writing about a male homosexual detective. For some reason there are several lesbian heroines in the genre, but I have yet to come across a gay man. Which is interesting in itself. FYI, my birthday is in October. :-P. Wednesday, May 31, 2006.
