A family's experience with apraxia and the start of homeschooling
Apraxia and Homeschooling: 2013/14 School year
http://saywhatagainapraxia.blogspot.com/2013/09/2013-school-year.html
A family's experience with apraxia and the start of homeschooling. Friday, September 6, 2013. The last time I posted on this blog it was on Isaiah's status with Apraxia. This time it is about Isaiah's start to homeschooling. Initially I was quite weary of home-schooling and dreaded the thought of it. The underlying emotion I felt was fear. fearful that I would not provide and meet the expectations, mostly from myself, of being a good teacher and that I would not be able to do it whole heartedly. We start...
Apraxia and Homeschooling: The story continues...

A family's experience with apraxia and the start of homeschooling. Thursday, May 30, 2013. Okay so the boys are sleeping and I can finally think! I really should be sleeping because I have an early morning with the kids and work tomorrow night. As I ended in the previous post, we knew that Isaiah had to be assessed. We hoped that he was a late talker, like everyone told me he probably was, but deep, deep down inside in the depth of my gut there was something more. My poor sweet boy :(. On top of things w...
Apraxia and Homeschooling: Where to start?
http://saywhatagainapraxia.blogspot.com/2013/05/where-to-start.html
A family's experience with apraxia and the start of homeschooling. Tuesday, May 28, 2013. I guess I can start from the beginning. As a person one dreams of starting a family; a healthy Normal family. One that consists of children who are healthy and without any concerns or issues. You know that perfect family with two children and their dog standing in front of a well manicured house with a white picket fence. Http:/ dictionary.reference.com/browse/apraxia? He was an emergency C-section because his heart...
Apraxia and Homeschooling: Our progress...
http://saywhatagainapraxia.blogspot.com/2013/06/our-progress.html
A family's experience with apraxia and the start of homeschooling. Thursday, June 20, 2013. Slow and steady wins the race. In my last post I had mentioned that we had a diagnoses for Isaiah and had him in some private speech therapy sessions. As of last fall we were accepted into the public speech services at the BC Family Hearing center and began our speech therapy. From the start Isaiah was more receptive and willing to learn. We started a new program called Serious Nonsense. Kind of ironic isn't it?
Apraxia and Homeschooling: Feeling slacked
http://saywhatagainapraxia.blogspot.com/2013/09/feeling-slacked.html
A family's experience with apraxia and the start of homeschooling. Saturday, September 14, 2013. This week was a more relaxed. I am not sure if the beautiful hot scorching weather had anything to with our very minimal attempt this week on our school work but we definitely spent more time outside than in. However, we still did a lot of learning using more kinesthetic learning techniques and making sure that while we were having fun we were still learning. My Creation Bible" By Ken Ham. The kinesthetic par...

St. Innocent: Introductions

Friday, April 27, 2012. It was really lovely to meet all of you last night - though incredibly surreal as everything was a bit fuzzy on the iPad. It's exciting to see so many young families considering home schooling. After our meeting last night I thought it would be helpful to share some websites to give more information about the school we (the Hewletts and Renes) and enrolled with (and work for! As well as websites that show some examples of home school in action. To log our school work. It is no...

http://www.orthodoxschool.ca/2012/10/first-co-op-outing.html
Wednesday, October 3, 2012. An educational tour at the Apple Barn in Abbotsford! We learned about the life cycles of apples and pumpkins, about pollination and tree grafting. Learned how they sort, process and prepare the apples for market and for cider. We visited the animals - bunnies and goats. Then went for a hay ride to the pumpkin patch. And picked pumpkins before heading back to the barn area for our lunch and then back to the orchard to pick apples! Thank you, Sarah, for organizing a great outing!

Apraxia and Homeschooling
A family's experience with apraxia and the start of homeschooling. Wednesday, October 23, 2013. The last two months. It has been two months since our new adventure into the unforeseen territories of homeschooling. The process has been fun yet exhausting. In the midst of the chaos of being a mom, a teacher, a referee, a cook, a maid, and a chauffeur, homeschooling has its challenges but has also been rewarding. During the last two months I have learned a few things about our homeschooling:. I am not sure ...
