Two friends of mine, other English assistants, had been staying with a teacher from their school who had give them free tickets. Oh, did I mention there was Froie Gras too?

Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Deux Hamburgers, Deux Petits Frites, Deux Petites Bieres. That is correct, Genevieve and I went to McDonald’s! It was more of an experience than anything else, and it was definitely her idea! Anyway, that little anecdote was to introduce the rest of my afternoon spent with Genevieve. Tuesday, November 10, 2009. After our adventurous day of getting the Petit Paume successfully we were headed to the Salon du Vin for an afternoon of wine tasting. Two friends of mine, other English assistants, had been staying with a teacher from their school who had give them free tickets. We walked in, handed in our tickets, were given a glass, and headed into this big room lined with wine vendors. They were from all over france selling every different type of wine…and champagne of course.

Apfeltorte à la Oma. Es ist schon eine Weile her, dass ich die hier gebacken habe – wird mal wieder Zeit, die Apfeltorte ist nämlich sehr lecker! 1 gehäufter TL Backpulver. Zutaten für den Teig verkneten, ca. für den Rand übrig lassen. In eine gefettete Springform geben, den Rand schön hoch ziehen. Apfelsaft mit Zucker aufkochen; Vanillepudding nach Packung mit dem Saft aufkochen. Äpfel schälen und in Scheiben reiben; unter den Pudding heben. 6 Kakao und Zimt mischen und darübersieben.
