Wanborough has again been full of butterfly's, with Red Admirals, Gatekeeper, a Comma, loads of Meadow Browns, Skippers and numerous Large Whites. SBaW - Readers Corner. Garden Birds - Jan 17. With most of the garden birds having deserted us in recent months, particularly our colony of House Sparrow that bred in the ivy on the front of the house, we decided it was time for some drastic garden maintenance which we had always put off because of the birds. At the back our willow tree has been significantly reduced in size and the fruit trees and shrubs pruned. Our first garden bird of the new year followed by a Goldcrest. Trevor and Sue Clayson.
