The point is that I missed almost all the birding that has made Bulgaria one of the top nature tourism destinations in Europe, and I could have been in on it from the start. Birding tours are, slowly, taking off, and, thanks to the work of Darko Saveljic and his Centre for Protection and Research of Birds of Montenegro (CZIP). Monster Gull Ate My Dinner! Well actually it's the left overs, and for some reason the Badgers didn't turn up to eat them last night. When I put them out this morning this rather lame Herring Gull turned up. There were some prettier visitors to the garden today. The Budleia is out and the Butterflies are around.

Walk like an Egyptian. I'm not a great fan of moat introductions, in general they look much better in their native habitat, and I guess that Egyptian Goose is no exception.
