Saturday, May 1, 2010. Due to the nature of the surgery and her medical history they warned us that she may be kept overnight for observation. Here she is packed and ready to head to the hospital. Such a brave and happy little trooper! Out of order but, Grandma Joyce was here to give me some much needed support. This is in waiting area of surgery center. Just an hour before surgery and still ALL smiles and strength! So glad that day went smoothly and we were able to come home the same day!

I tell her what goes in and she does the rest. This past weekend I was making spaghetti and meatballs by request. She wanted to help so I prepped ingredients and she made the meatballs. No Teacher Left Behind. Wednesday, December 3, 2008. Our House is Looking More Like a Home. I went by our house today for the first time in almost a week, and was pleasantly greeted by many changes. On the outside the concrete was poured for our driveway, front porch and back patio. The inside was even better! All of the cabinets have been installed in the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room. No Teacher Left Behind. Friday, October 31, 2008. Our House is Coming Along! These are the most recent pictures of our new house! This week they put the roof on and the windows in, as well as the plumbing pipes and the duct work. Soon we'll be meeting with the builder to choose our colors and other options! I'm really hoping that we'll be able to get moved in during Christmas break, assuming that the weather cooperates when it comes time to paint the house and pour the driveway! Skip's favorite beer is Mirror Pond, so one of our first stops in Bend was the Deschutes Brewery Pubhouse for a fresh, cold beer! But before that we took a walk through Drake Park, just west of downtown Bend. That is where we found Mirror Pond, a spot along the Deschutes River that was full of geese, ducks, and one white swan. The park was beautiful and was one of our fave spots in Bend. Here's the queen (or king) of Mirror Pond.

Monday, August 22, 2011. On Sunday morning in Dubai we went looking for a Methodist Church and thought we had found one. Their theme was “Open doors. Open minds.”. I knew something was amiss without “Open hearts.”. It was Jumeirah Mosque! They open this Mosque to non Muslims, but then claimed all Mosques are open to anyone who follows the rules and customs. The presentation was good and again, our experience of the Moslem people has been wonderful. I put $ 20 down on a place. We then hit the Dubai Mall.
