A Traveler's Tales: September 2005
http://pennaeaquilae.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Being the musings of a alien - temporal and spiritual. Monday, September 26, 2005. Selections from Book I. I’m reading Augustine for a couple classes this semester both. Right now I’m in the beginning of. Tu excitas, ut laudare te delectet, quia fecisti nos ad te et inquietum est cor nostrum, donec requiescat in te. You stir man to take pleasure in praising you, because you have made us for yourself, and our heart is restless until it rests in you. Quid dicit aliquis, cum de te dicit? How many of our day...

Entr'acte: Yes, I am back from Na...
http://kevinschellhase.blogspot.com/2008/06/yes-i-am-back-from-na.html
Fighting for joy in the already and the not yet. Monday, June 2, 2008. Yes, I am back from Na. And yes, I DID take notes on the rest of the sessions. I haven't been able to post them yet, though, because they are on my laptop which my parents borrowed. Making a quiet time plan: picking a book at a time to read through, slowly, with prayer and note-taking. Reading through the Bible: this can happen by fits and starts or at any pace, but I hope to finish next May. Crying out to God. View my complete profile.

Entr'acte: September 2007
http://kevinschellhase.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Fighting for joy in the already and the not yet. Wednesday, September 19, 2007. MC courses this semester. This class is tough, but not a huge leap up from last year, so we all know what we're doing. The teacher is a new professor named Justin Boyer, who isn't much older than most of us. He makes class pretty interesting and we enjoy it. Ear Training/Sight Singing 3/4. Survey of Music Literature. We have NO TENORS! But one girl in the group knows some tenors and she's trying to invite them to join. Un...

A Traveler's Tales: My People, Part 2
http://pennaeaquilae.blogspot.com/2007/05/my-people-part-2.html
Being the musings of a alien - temporal and spiritual. Wednesday, May 02, 2007. My People, Part 2. Thanks, y’all, for the replies. I figure I ought to give an update:. Though not on the weekend I wanted to, I did get to visit the emerging church and a fascinating visit it was. The day was one of the first pretty ones we’d had and, as I drove through some lovely countryside, I found myself much more interested in spending my day out on one of the farms than cooped up inside. I’ll have to re-visit sometime.

Wednesday, June 16, 2004. The best part of the tournament was feeling myself actually a part of the TKD world, able to act as an individual, by myself, in the adult world. I went to the tournament on my own volition, and I was the only one of my family there. It felt odd, but good. In the evening, I took the sibs contra dancing. I gotta say, I was exhausted! By the next day it had turned nicely brown, though. :D. Para; 12:07 PM. Friday, June 11, 2004. As one of my friends said, I'm "on a summer schedule&...

Monday, May 30, 2005. It is time for me to describe my brother's wedding. As always, when I start to communicate anything, I feel my own inadequacy. I could write a book or at least a novelette about the last week, describing people and interactions and why I reacted the way I did to events. But I will write what I can, knowing how little I will actually say. Para; 3:32 PM. Sunday, May 29, 2005. Well, my brother got married, and it was beautiful. I will post more details later, because we are about t...

Friday, December 31, 2004. I think you should move that last paragraph to the beginning," my mom said. I looked at it and squinched up my face. But I put it where it is to leave the scholarship committee with warm fuzzies," I said. "See - because the first part is more dry, I want to give them something nice to remember me with.". If they get that far," said my mom. I frowned. Ought that to be enough to start an argument? Para; 11:43 AM. Wednesday, December 29, 2004. Para; 10:08 PM. In a few hours, my ol...

Monday, August 30, 2004. As I begin my second week of junior year, I find myself with a few minutes to reflect. My brain, which had begun to slow down over the summer, has woken up, and is humming busily over a number of topics. I feel like it is time to settle some of them. Also, sermons and chapel messages lately have all been telling me - it is more than "OK" to be passionate about what God wants me to do. It is right. Para; 4:12 PM. Monday, August 23, 2004.
