Thursday, March 4, 2010. It's time to plant the seeds. It's March 5, and finally the sun is shinning! The trays are all set up in the garage and Matt is beginning his seed plantings. This year we are so excited to be planning some very interesting and tastey heirloom varieties. Here's a portion of the list there are 57 varieties just of the Heirloom tomatoes:. Aker's West Virgina, Sioux, Brandywine Landis Strain, Red Zebra. Aunt Ginny's Purple, Pruden's Purple, Mrs. Benson, Cherokee Purple.

On August 22, 1922 Matt's grandfather Joao Dias de Borba and his brother Germano immigrated to the United States from Sao Jorge Island in the Azores.
