Between Worlds: Too Big To Fail?
http://mechanicalcrumbum.blogspot.com/2009/10/too-big-to-fail.html
I greatly fear that my King is dead, and if I want a crown I must go and hunt it for myself. -Rudyard Kipling "The Man Who Would Be King". Thursday, October 15, 2009. Too Big To Fail? I have a simple question, Why, if a bank is too big to fail, doesn't the government pursue anti-trust actions against it? Also Huffington post is reporting that the "Tea-Baggers" are out of touch, I knew that the moment they decided to name themselves after the action of dropping your testicles in someones unsuspecting mouth.

First let me introduce those of your reading this (ha ha I made a funny! To a link where I have wasted a good portion of my time recently Wolfram Tones. I think this is another example of engineers/scientists liking music but completely misunderstanding its nature, purpose, and practice. So the question really ...

I greatly fear that my King is dead, and if I want a crown I must go and hunt it for myself. -Rudyard Kipling "The Man Who Would Be King". Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Hard Problems at MSRI. I am here at the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute for the northern California premier of Hard Problems, a documentary about the Math Olympiad. Quotes from the movie I thought were particularly good. The subject of math rather than just the random facts I was taught in school. And now, onto the Q&A panel.

Random missives from the great white north. Saturday, October 30, 2004. I'm in Lexington again this weekend. SouthernKitten is taking a nap at the moment, so I thought I'd take this opportunity to do some blogging. (edit: I finished and posted this a few hours later). SouthernKitten's been complaining a bit recently about pain in the back of her mouth. She fears her wisdom teeth may be the cause but hopes it isn't as she'd heard a few horror stories of wisdom teeth coming out. The next day was a admitted...

Random missives from the great white north. Friday, April 29, 2005. After handing in my last exam a little before 4:30 today I finished school for the semester. My plan for the summer is to make like any other student and get a summer job. I really could use even a brief respite from the whole poor student shtick and I'd like to try and minimize my loans for next year. To that end, I've sent out a few dozen resumes. I may be forced to do something productive like spring cleaning or something. I've never ...

Random missives from the great white north. Tuesday, August 24, 2004. I feel that with something like the Olympics going on, I should probably at least mention them once or twice in my blog. I'm not really a big watcher of sports. I don't normally watch any of the professional sports (even hockey, which is almost obligatory for Canadians). I'll watch football now and then, but only because SouthernKitten likes it and there is often beer involved. Posted by CanadaDave @ 2:52:00 PM. Sunday, August 22, 2004.

Random missives from the great white north. Thursday, November 10, 2005. I've had quite the evening. But I'm feeling tired and lazy, so instead of typing the whole thing out, I figured I'd just post the conversation I just had with Mary. About it. (with some minor editing). CanadaDave: I've had an interesting evening. CanadaDave: I was sitting and happily vegging in front of the TV when my phone rang. CanadaDave: It was a number and area code that I didn't recognize, so I answered it. Mary ann: oh no.

Random missives from the great white north. Tuesday, January 25, 2005. Boy, do I feel safe. In the news recently. CNN) - A water leak at the Fermi II nuclear power plant outside Monroe, Michigan, forced a shutdown of the facility Monday, but no radioactivity was reported to have escaped and no evacuations have been ordered, authorities said.". I noticed this plant. I'll have to look up what kind of fallout I can expect next time. Edit: It leaked again. Posted by CanadaDave @ 11:57:00 PM. Those of you pla...
