According to the update on the 4Deserts website, the salt flats comprise hard, crusted, coral-like terrain which is extremely difficult to navigate – and sometimes will tear shoes to shreds. News is in that Sumanth has successfully navigated Stage 5 which is also called the Long March, of 74 odd kilometers with timings of 19 hours and 13 minutes. Phew!
