By Amanda Joy Beguerie. When Your Soul is Longing to Be Enough. October 8, 2016. October 8, 2016. I have a love/hate relationship with that word; the whole concept of adequacy and fullness. Because deep inside of me, there’s this longing to be truly enoughand an aching dread that I never will be. I know that sounds extremely un-Christian and negative, so please do hear me out. This is something I think really needs to be addressed. Continue reading →. How to Pursue Purpose-Filled, Intentional Living.

By Amanda Joy Beguerie. How to Satisfy the Human Desire for Love, Joy, and Fulfillment. October 29, 2016. October 29, 2016. There’s something so interesting about being a human being, living in this seemingly endless series of experiences and emotions, events and times of extreme joy and extreme pain. Life is so beautiful, and so fragile, and we can be so sensitive to all of it. I know I am. We should keep on desiring. Continue reading →. How Vulnerability Can Bring Us Beyond Ourselves. By Amanda Joy Beguerie. August 11, 2015. August 11, 2015. Most of the time. My life gets so messy sometimes, and it’s sickening how self-absorbed everyone in this world is. And, you know, how selfish people can be by nature. Myself included. I’m trying my best to work on that. There’s this song in. The newer movie) that is perfect and sick at the same time when it comes to the human sin nature. Here’s the first part of it. How ba-a-a-ad can I be? I’m just doing what comes naturally. It’s just a dumb excu...

By Amanda Joy Beguerie. Bits of Advice to Turn Over Your Worry Into Trust. August 1, 2015. August 1, 2015. Lately, I’ve been thinking. Not about anything in particular, really, but just about the future. Everything from the coming school year to my life career, from my future marriage to my future kids, and all that. (If I told you that I also think about retirement on occasion, you’d think me mad. But to quote Alice from Wonderland of course all the best people are. We’re all mad here.). No matter how m...

A Writer's Heart: A Time to Speak
http://shantellemaryh.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-time-to-speak.html
A Dream Not Imagined. Monday, May 11, 2015. A Time to Speak. Hey readers. So, I'm feeling a bit um . tired . today. Mainly because of my previous post. Which was on magic. That post is like by far my most popular post ever. I was not expecting that. And while I got a lot of encouragement, I also got a bit of disagreement. Which is to be expected of course - and I'm not by any means condemning those who disagreed with me! Sorcery/witchcraft is sin. Portraying sin as "good" is wrong. I mean, yikes! Guys, t...

A Writer's Heart: Movie Review: Cinderella
http://shantellemaryh.blogspot.com/2015/03/movie-review-cinderella.html
A Dream Not Imagined. Friday, March 13, 2015. Big grin* This movie brought on all the fluttery feelings and happy sighs that a really good fairytale romance does! It was just a good, old-fashioned. Tale through and through. I was delighted with how true the movie producers stayed to the classic fairytale! I enjoy varied adaptions of fairytales . but following the original is just the best! Is classic yet its own. Stunning. Lily James (whom I first met as Lady Rose in. Downton Abbey (2010—). But she did a...

We live, in fact, in a world starved. For solitude, silence, and private:. And therefore starved for meditation. And true friendship." -C.S. Lewis. There are times when I feel the presence and conviction of God in little glimpses. The tender whispers, gentle rebukes, and momentary revelations of the evil in my heart. Then there are times when it seems like the Lord flips on the light in the junk room. A while back the Lord began to knock on the door to this room. I heard the rapping for years, but co...

Monday, August 22, 2016. Poem: lake feeding (written in 2000 or 2001). I sit by the lake on the brick wall, legs crossed and grown pale and hard with chill, like iron rails. The turtles don’t appear on the smooth green-black surface, only a sudden ripple or two, far out. I break and throw a cracker anyway, nibble on the last part myself. The stunning pink and purple sky of moments before has settled now into subtle hues of blue, white and a faint orange glow above the darkening water. A long time ago.
