Searching for Neverland: Finally a STL Weekend!
http://searchingforneverland.blogspot.com/2008/06/finally-stl-weekend.html
Second star to the right and straight on till morning. June 22, 2008. Finally a STL Weekend! Another weekend come and gone. This summer we've had very few opportunities to enjoy a weekend without travel, this was not one of them. Well, for both of us at least. Despite a poor personal performance, the team did quite well; we lost 4-1 which is an improvement seeing how last time we lost 13-0. We even spent the first 25 minutes of the game 3 players short of a full roster. After the game Matt and I went to ...

Wallstraville: Fruit flies and time
http://wallstraville.blogspot.com/2009/10/fruit-flies-and-time.html
The continuing story of Josh and Megan, now in the land of tea and beer. Sunday, October 25, 2009. Fruit flies and time. Every now and then (and I mean every now and then), Josh shares something very wise, drawing on an obscure knowledge of ancient religious sects or training in pastoral counseling. Last time, it was Koine Greek applied to fruit flies. Now comes the wisdom. Josh told me about the two words for "time" in ancient Greek, chronos. Is moving awfully slow for us. With that in mind, I now hope ...

Wallstraville: Here's a few things we've been noticing lately.

The continuing story of Josh and Megan, now in the land of tea and beer. Monday, November 30, 2009. Here's a few things we've been noticing lately. Here's a few things we've been noticing lately. Some people in West Michigan have a very thick accent. It seems to be concentrated in the Jenison/Grandville area. My, but customer service is good here. And my, but that fake niceness present in so many Midwestern phone calls, store greetings, and exchanged pleasantries is irritating. In a small way, we miss th...

Wallstraville: the end
http://wallstraville.blogspot.com/2009/12/end.html
The continuing story of Josh and Megan, now in the land of tea and beer. Wednesday, December 09, 2009. So here we are. So here we are. I began working at an architecture firm in Grand Rapids over a month ago, and Josh is following up on leads in youth work at churches in the area while he quite happily works with my father, helping the asparagus grow. So that's the end of the story. Grand Rapids. Full circle, nearly, for both of us. You bet. Exciting? Time of death: midnight 12.09.09. 12/11/09, 12:50 AM.

Wallstraville: New York City
http://wallstraville.blogspot.com/2007/04/new-york-city.html
The continuing story of Josh and Megan, now in the land of tea and beer. Tuesday, April 17, 2007. Sometimes I miss New York as if it were a person. It's as if the city has its own character and disposition and certain things (scenes/actions/encounters/events) remind me of this. It feels very unlike how I miss "home" home (Michigan). It is neither nostalgic nor wistful nor vague but a distinct sadness that I forget until I am reminded of it. 4/17/07, 2:36 AM. 4/20/07, 5:43 PM. Looking for some highlights?

The continuing story of Josh and Megan, now in the land of tea and beer. Friday, October 16, 2009. Checking our UK bank accounts and moved the last of our savings to checking. We heard 'nil' used our whole time abroad, but this is the first time it's shown up in a bank account! Funny Nil showed up on the treasurers report on an account that he was closing out in Church Council the other night. 11/6/09, 12:24 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Wallstraville: New to Wallstraville?
http://wallstraville.blogspot.com/2007/01/new-to-wallstraville.html
The continuing story of Josh and Megan, now in the land of tea and beer. Tuesday, January 02, 2007. To be force-fed questions and answers that serve someone else's purpose? We originally chose the name as an inside joke. When we got married in 2003 we were considering what to do about last names. One of the options we considered (but wisely rejected) was creating one from our two, Feenstra and Wall… hence. Where are you now? Well, presently we are in Durham, England. Where have you been? A season at a sk...
