http://wineythoughts.blogspot.com/2011/06/scott-harvey-barbera-2007.html
Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Scott Harvey Barbera 2007. I haven't been around much mostly b/c life has been busy and taken over any extra blogging time. Also b/c early summer tends to be beer drinking time for me, so not a lot of new wines have been tried. Until recently. A few weeks ago we drove up to Chicago to visit the fam and stopped by my favorite wine shop. We plan to visit one or two wine stores in Northern Germany soon. I like Italian wine but I have never heard of a grape called Barbera! 1=ugh it wa...

Winey Thoughts: Paso Robles Wine Tasting
http://wineythoughts.blogspot.com/2011/04/paso-robles-wine-tasting.html
Sunday, April 24, 2011. Paso Robles Wine Tasting. The first winery we stopped at. I don't really remember anything standing out about this place. I blame the fact that we got up so early to drive down. Definitely will have to stop again when drowsiness is not a factor. As you pull up to this winery, you notice the gorgeous wisteria overhanging the porch. The Vin Rouge wine was a big favorite here. You know my favorite kind of wine tasting? Our last stop of the day. The people were super friendly even...

Winey Thoughts: Drinking for a Cause
http://wineythoughts.blogspot.com/2010/12/drinking-for-cause.html
Sunday, December 12, 2010. Drinking for a Cause. Over at my other blog, I recently wrote. A list of things that I wanted for Christmas this year. One of the items on my list was (Fledgling Wine). This wine raises money for Room to Read. Which is a great non profit that works for worldwide literacy. This made me start thinking about other wines and wineries that give back (besides that headache the next morning). Here's a list of wines that I found that are making a change, one bottle at a time:. If so, p...

Winey Thoughts: Wines to Try
http://wineythoughts.blogspot.com/p/wines-to-try.html
I've read about wines and have been recommended wines and I tend to forget what they are. This is where we'll list wines we'd like to try and possibly review in the future. One of the problems with this list is finding places to buy these wines. Shipping of wine is uber expensive, so this may become more of a wish list for wines. =). 1) Ferrari Carano Fume Blanc. 2) Francis Coppola wines, we tried a pinot noir and really liked, I'd like to sample more from here. 1) 2008 Cune Monopole. 1=ugh it was vinegar.

First up my FAVORITE beer right now is Domaine Dupage by Two Brothers Brewery. A "local" brewery from Warrenville IL. C and I need to make a trip to do a tour because really all their beers are good. And it was delish. Pricey but worth it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 1=ugh it was vinegar. 5=lip licking good wine.

Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Toast of the Town Chicago. After two years of talking nonstop about wanting to attend this amazing event we splurged and bought VIP tickets. This is Wine Enthusiast's Toast of the Town event. Taking place in 5 cities across the country. In Chicago it takes place at the Field Museum. My personal favorite of the city's museums. I was in love with the idea of tasting delicious wine and tasting fancy food underneath Sue. That experience was everything I had hoped it would be. Yes, you...
