Do I have anything that I plan on keeping long enough to justify affixing something to it permanently? I still have a Guns N Roses patch from junior high because of this problem. Sunday, February 04, 2007. I first read about Peyton Manning in a Sports Illustrated article a few months before he was drafted in 1998. It was obvious to me that this was a guy that had the talent and work ethic to become a Hall of Fame quarterback, and he also was so grounded that his ego would not get in his way the way it has for other talented players (Terrell Owens, I'm looking at you).
