Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond. Wednesday, 23 June 2010. Day 4- Lake Garda. We spent our 4th day in Italy at Lake Garda. If you know my husband at all, you know that he is a lake man. So, we decided to spend the whole day touring the southern end of the lake. We started off our day in a town called Sirmione. Sirmione is located on a small peninsula at the southern end of the lake. When we crossed the drawbridge to enter the old town, we were greeted by Scagliera Castle. We left Sirmione and h...

Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond: A Year of PWOC

Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond. Friday, 2 September 2011. A Year of PWOC. One of the reasons that my blog did not stay up-to-date last year was because I served as the President for the PWOC (Protestant Women of the Chapel) at our base. It was a lot of responsibility, but it was incredibly fulfilling (and I pray, that it was glorifying to God). We were given a fabulous theme for the year which was "Shine in the Light of His Glory.". Complete with a chuck-wagon to serve the meal from. I wrote ...

Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond: Christmas 2010
http://strykerinvasion.blogspot.com/2011/08/christmas-2010.html
Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond. Tuesday, 30 August 2011. We felt particularly blessed this past holiday season because we were able to spend both Thanksgiving and Christmas with family! Ethan's mother and brother spent a week with us over the Christmas holiday. But before they arrived, a few festivities already took place, including the children's annual school Christmas pageant. (How I will miss these after we move home! Both Tim and Maddie played the part of angels this year (how fitting!

Whilst you were busy, I was doing this. Thursday, December 23, 2010. Our heated mattress pad. 'Nuff said. Tuesday, December 21, 2010. I can't talk about touch this season without mentioning our new bunny. She has been a wonderful new addition, and boy is she SOFT. Her fur is a color the breeders called "fawn" and that's true. Underneath the fawn, she is snowy white, and so's her belly. Her ears are soft, but she generally prefers petting about the jaws and behind her ears. Le lapin est une baguette!

Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond. Sunday, 5 September 2010. Back in June, our church had it's annual barbecue at a local farm. It was organized by my friend Debbie, who is an American. She is fabulous at organizing our church's events, and tells how it has taken her years to "train" the Brits how to do church functions American-style. How preposterous of me for asking! The ice-cream sundae bar was a hit! Leave it to us Americans to teach other cultures how to make something bigger and better.

Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond. Friday, 12 March 2010. My Maddie Jane turned 6 years old last week. Happy Birthday to my big girl, who of course, is growing too fast. On her birthday, we went to the Wacky Warehouse for some ball-pit fun, followed by dinner at the adjoining pub. We then went home for cake and presents. Our present to her this year was a doll house. I won it for only 20 pounds which is less than $40! I was so excited! It looks like it was hand-made with love. Again, the girls s...
