Here is Nora's big day. Since our lives seem to revolve entirely around her, we decided to have a party on her behalf so that everyone else's lives could revolve around her as well. At least for one day. She really does need more attention. Being adored by 3 individuals is simply not enough. I realize that eventually I will have to come up with another reason, but I am grateful for the extra help the baby blessing expectation provides. The End (vigor - ha). I love those little screamers!

There was basement ball. Walks to the flooding river (awesome). A trip to the "Meat House" (also awesome). A belated birthday celebration for Maren (awesome). The last few weeks have been busy and filled with friends. Lance's high school friends were all in town at the same time, and there was much partying to be done before Dave went back to Virginia, Darren went back to Detroit, and Garrett went to Iraq. We're a little late in the game this year but we carved our Halloween pumpkin earlier this week. Zeke was interested for a little while and helped scoop the pumpkin guts out. What does one do in Sarasota, FL at midnight? I, unlike many, sit on an uncomfortable bed in a strange-smelling hotel room wishing I was at home in my own bed with my own strange-smelling children crying at odd intervals all night long because they have colds. I never thought I would wish that my kids would wake me up, and yet here I sit wishing it. I'm at the end of a long 5 weeks of travel and I've learned a lot from my voyages. For example:. Ellie's been pulling herself up and cruising for some time now and just recently she's been playing around with the idea of taking steps. She's taken as many as seven steps in one try.
