Life at Golden Pines: A New Forever Home for Lexi

http://lifeatgoldenpines.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-new-forever-home-for-lexi.html

Saturday, August 1, 2015. A New Forever Home for Lexi. Lexi, the start of her first day at Golden Pines. You'll all recall how in May we welcomed a lovely dog named Lexi to Golden Pines. She had her ups and downs as we dealt with bouts of her getting sick because what we decided is from a very sensitive stomach. At the Vet and ready to leave! Lexi was getting lost at our house because of "stars" like Todd, Charlie and the others. Charlie and Lexi in May. On Our Way Yesterday! Kim at Golden Pines. Were so...

Life at Golden Pines: August 2015

http://lifeatgoldenpines.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 30, 2015. Why Was I Worried? Moon-set on Sunday morning. Back to the airport on Friday afternoon to the "arrivals" and as quick as you can put a suitcase into the trunk of a car, I was no longer a single parent. Back at home, all the dogs were happy to see their missing pack member and tell him all that had gone wrong while he was away. George is the worst at keeping a secret. The face of a dog that can't keep a secret. Of course it was no secret that there is our newest addition, Dusty.

Life at Golden Pines: October 2014

http://lifeatgoldenpines.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Thursday, October 30, 2014. But I got to meet a friend for an early lunch. Take the scenic route back home and. Spend time outside with the dogs. I got a rare photo of Sunny (below) where he's actually looking at me with the camera. Is it possible that he's getting over his fear of the camera? And I just got to relax and do practically nothing - All things you just can't do in traffic court. Kim at Golden Pines. Saturday, October 25, 2014. It did take some doing, but I finally. Managed to get everyone se...

Life at Golden Pines: January 2015

http://lifeatgoldenpines.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 29, 2015. There's Always the Weekend. Our corner of Virginia only got the very narrow edge of the colossal snowstorm that moved up the east coast at the start of the week. More snow is predicted for Sunday, so we'll see if anything comes of this forecast. Today is my day off, and I'm finding that while I have a lot of good intentions, not much is getting done. There's always the weekend to try and be a bit more productive. Kim at Golden Pines. Sunday, January 25, 2015. With a winter sto...

Life at Golden Pines: September 2014

http://lifeatgoldenpines.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Monday, September 29, 2014. The week has begun, and we're off and running. And apparently, according to my mobile navigation/traffic app on my phone, so is Todd. I just hope he's not sticking his head out the window while he's driving! I hope your week is off to a good start! It kinda is, right? Kim at Golden Pines. Saturday, September 27, 2014. With the exception of one day of rain, our weather this past week could not have been any more beautiful. Beau waiting for the ophthalmologist. This weekend saw ...

Life at Golden Pines: May 2015

http://lifeatgoldenpines.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Saturday, May 30, 2015. You may recall our girl Cricket who passed away in January. This little gem was turned over to the rescue by the niece of her owner who passed away last spring. Cricket was a much loved and treasured family member, not just to "Flossie" but to "the Niece". And her family as well. "The Niece". And I became friends, keeping in touch during the time Cricket was with us. This week, the Niece. I'd hoped the Niece. Kim at Golden Pines. Sunday, May 24, 2015. Todd (right), greeting his li...

Life at Golden Pines: August 2014

http://lifeatgoldenpines.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 31, 2014. The Last Day of August. The last day of August and it's Labor Day Weekend. The unofficial end of summer. This morning there was a real thickness in the morning air and the heavy humidity caused beaded droplets on the windows. This afternoon there have been heavy storms. Each day we are losing a little light and it's now dark at 6 in the morning when the dogs and I have our first walk of the day. Beau, post eye-lift. CarrieAnne, YES, that's a plant growing through our porch! The r...

Celestequest: December 2010

http://celestequest.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Kalara took advantage of two things last night, the downpour after the thunderstorm and the fact that it was too warm to rug the pony trio. Using her decisive horse sense (horses are only sensible when they decide to be) she knew today would be clear and sunny so she attempted a glare-reducing mudpack just like Bear Grylls'. Monday, December 27, 2010. Turning up the heat. More of the same is forecast for tomorrow, Total Fire Bans, heat, mozzies and sun. The freezer has b...

Celestequest: Thistle do

http://celestequest.blogspot.com/2012/10/thistle-do.html

Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Yesterday dawned cool and clear and turned into a warm and sunny day. After a week of sunny days. This information is specifically for our northern readers facing the autumn approaching. We've got the sun, thanks very much, we'll lend it to you occasionally and send it back next year. Even so, they grow higher than a horse. Literally. Places we like to visit. Green Garden in the Driest State. Life on a Nova Scotia Island. Shetland Sheep in the US. Tree at ninety degrees.

Celestequest: Eggstreme living

http://celestequest.blogspot.com/2012/10/eggstreme-living.html

Monday, October 1, 2012. I am hoping today is actually the Queen's Birthday Holiday otherwise I'm missing the first day back to uni after the spring mid-term break, which zoomed by like an escaped beagle. In an effort to just get on with it as it's 5 weeks until exams (thunder roll, psycho music). Today's study: the wonders of the mouth, dentition and differences between carnivores, ruminants and equines, why horses need dentists but don't actually like them. Places we like to visit.
